I've had the best and most consistent results getting rid of fleas on both dogs and cats by using Frontline Top Spot; I swear by it! I live in deep south Texas where ticks and fleas are brutal!!

Frontline Top Spot not only kills fleas on dogs & cats for a continuous three months on one dose, it also kills ticks dependably for up to 30 days on one dose, too...AND it's perfectly safe and effective to use on Puppies and kittens 5 weeks of age and older, too!

Frontline Top Spot comes in premeasured vials you just break open and apply to the back of the neck of each one of your dogs, right between their shoulder blades; on cats be sure to place it higher on the neck, just right below the base of the head so it can't lick it. That's it! It'll keep killing fleas on your pet for 3 months and ticks for 1 month.

Don't worry about treating your yard or house or carpet areas, as any new fleas that hatch out in your house or yard will instinctively jump on your pet's coat and die as soon as they bite them to feed. It's genius!! I couldn't live without the stuff! You can get it at your local vet or do what I do and call 1-800-PET-MEDS for the cheapest prices, plus they'll be delivered right to your house within the week!

I hate fleas. You have to treat the dog, treat your house, keep the dog away from all other dogs and limit the amount of time the dog spends outdoors, and probably do it all over again because the fleas usually are not gone after one treatment. It is one of the reasons I don't have a dog- the other is that they have a tendency to think that the carpet is their own toilet and they require almost as much caretaking as a child. .

I have 8 dogs. As far as I know, there's only one way to get rid of fleas: injection, in my case, every 15 days.

Fleas are living everywhere the dogs go, plants, grasses, floors, walls, sands, pools, so after you shower them with the anti-flea shampoo, fleas will come back.

Depending on the size of your dog (cats too), take a fresh clove of garlic and stick it down your dogs' (or cat) throat and you will be very pleased when the fleas disapear. Treat your pet(s) at least once every other week, depending on the weather, where you live things like that.
Humans can benefit by doing the same thing, one fresh small clove and you can be flealess as well.
Drink a lot of water because others will be able to smell your garliciky breath and it comes out of your pores.
BUT TRUST ME ON THIS ONE, IT WORKS.
Or give your pet a bath in Skin-So-Soft, that bath oil (original) from Avon, the oil smothers those pesty critters.

If your dog is long haired consider getting him trimmed, followed by a flea dip. My hubby sprays our yard with some special chemicals and our dog which we have had for over 8 years has never had a single flea. She's a golden retriever so imagine how much fur she has!!

there really isnt a best way... there are alot of ways... you can try flea powders, collars, shampoos, dips, medications, and a variety of things.. you could give your dog a bath in flea killing shampoo and use a fine toothed comb to brush the fleas off of his/her coat. apply a flea collar or revolution or something of that sort, and spray all carpets with flea spray, you can also spray bedding and stuff with lice spray to kill them as well... make sure the area is well ventilated and if possible be away at that time...

good luck!!!

Take your dog to the vet there are different treatment options that you can use for your advantage. Also spray your house and yard to kill any insects that could infest your pet after treatment. Also it is a good idea to talk to your neighbors and find out if they are having flea problems they should spray their yards as well because your yard will most likely become infested again if your neighbors are having the same problem.

Kills fleas instantly. Dawn dish washing liquid does the trick. Add a few drops to your dog's bath and shampoo the animal thoroughly. Rinse well to avoid skin irritations. Goodbye fleas.

They say garlic helps rid fleas. I usually just sprinkle a little on my dog's food (wet mixed with dry). He likes it and, whether that's the reason or not, he doesn't have any fleas.

Get Frontline or Advantage from the vet. It works the best. It kills fleas quickly and keeps them off for a month.
