Men simply age better. My dad is a year older than my mum, and they were once in a restaurant where my mum ordered their meals while my dad went to the loo, and the waitress who had already brought them drinks asked my mum, "and what will your son have?".
Mum was none too pleased.
But don't feel bad about the confusion ... My 7 years younger brother and I once ran into one of his classmates at a shopping mall, and he thought we were boyfriend and girlfriend. Like duh? We totally look alike??

This happens to me all the time. I am the youngest of 5 and whenever my sisters are around everyone thinks I'm older even though they are 14 and 8 years older then me. I think part of it is because I have some gray hair, am bigger then them and have more kids. I don't let it bother me though and you shouldn't either... I just think to myself I must seem more mature to those people.

Maybe he looks younger than he is or you look older than you are, possibly both even.
If it makes you feel any better, some people get a lot worse questions. Once my father was somewhere with my sister and my sister got asked whether he was her older or younger brother! Ouch!

Some people just look a lot younger then others .. I know I look a lot younger then my age.

not everyone has a good judge of how old ppl really are..just ask me...i know...im 31 and still get carded for wanting to buy asprin....have fun being young and looking it and your brother too...
