Depression, schizophrenia and heart disease. I eat healthy and exercise, yoga and running, to keep my heart healthy, as for the other two there isn't much i can do about them but be aware that i could get them and look out for early warning signs.

Cancer runs in my family and I have survived breast cancer and last year was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. However, there is no BRAC gene present. My grandmother-maternal side-and Aunt-paternal side- both had BC. No one had uterine, cervical or ovarian cancer though. There is little you can do to guard against these particular cancers- If I smoked I would certainly quit since both parents were heavy smokers and died of lung cancer.

Stroke, diabetes, colon cancer, schizophrenia, and alcoholism. I do yoga to control stress and keep the blood pressure healthy, I eat fiber out the wazoo to keep the colon healthy and the body fit, I'm in my late 20's and haven't heard God tell me to kill myself like my mom's cousin did, so I'm thinking I dodged that bullet, and I only drink on occasion and never when I REALLY want it.

Everything runs through mine. Epilepsy, heart issues, diabetes, a couple bleeding diseases. I am a vegetarian. I exercise. I take time out to relax and recoup. Sounds like you're doing the things you need to ensure your health in the future. Good luck.

Old age. That's what everyone in my family seems to die of anyway. Well, everyone except my grandpa who died of an untreated childhood strep infection some thirty years later. And my great aunt has brain damage from a really high fever she has as a kid. Thus I can only conclude that the only things that run in my family are old age and complications from childhood illness.
