i have found a way to fight my depression.
here is a fact for you. a wolf can run 20 miles an hour indeffinately. a small pack of wolves will chase a large animal like a moose until it collapses and dies from exhaustion. depression will chase you the same way.
visualize a pack of wolves symbolizing depression.
imagine that you are being chased by a pack of wolves. make them very frightening (mine have glowing red eyes).
you are getting exhausted and the wolves are starting to catch up and surround you. then imagine you find a gun.
then shoot all of the wolves.
the reason this works i am told is if you can put emotions into a visual image that you can control it empowers you.
getting tired of running and fighting back. destroying the creatures in your imagination will give you a sense of power over your emotions.
just make sure that whatever is chasing you is not human. you do not want to have dreams about killing people that would be bad. some use wolves others use demons.

Dude, I know you're trying to be helpful and empower people and all, but did you have to make me think about being chased by a pack of angry wolves right before bedtime? Now I'm going to have nightmares! Couldn't you have posted this during the day or something??? :)

this would be some sort of ritualistic solution, that is not healthy and everytime the depression wells up again...you will have to once again resort to the wolf pack...no...this is not a voodoo solution to depression..it is a cover up of the root of the problem..I admire you for trying..but in the long run, you need to find out what caused the depression, is it something that was caused, or chemical?...Pray on it and forget the wolf pack...

i am not sure this is would work, but i appreciate you posting your suggestions and personal thoughts with stangers. it is kind and thoughtful of you. thank you.

here is what works for me. i use positive affirmation everyday. i tell myself i am not depressed and that i am getting better. i know i have a problem. making my mind believe i am changing is just as powerful as letting my depression trying to control my life and believing i can't stop it.
