Is there any fighter more overrated than John Ruiz?

I dont think hes even rated. Hes boring and he sucks. He cant fight, everytime he loses the title they give it back to him. Roy jones beat him, and moved down in weight. They gave it back to him. James Toney beat him, made excuse about steroids. When they knew he was coming off a injury and was perscribed. Not only does he suck as a fighter, he whines when he does lose. They should ban him from boxing.

From a semantic standpoint the answer is "yes" simply because no one ever "rated" Ruiz in the first place. Basically, he was in the right place at the right time--to his credit he's a fairly tough guy with a decent chin and uh...uh....that's about all I can think of "to his credit". The only Ruiz fight that I think I was able to stay awake through was when Roy Jones, Jr. exposed him. His "clutch and grab" technique may give him the best chance to win fights but its painfully boring to watch and ultimately bad for the sport. Speaking of "bad for the sport" his manager, Norman Stone, is a real piece of work who takes his managerial style from pro wrestling. Ruiz seems like a nice enough guy, but at the end of the day boxing is better off without him.

Say what you like about him, he was a two time heavyweight champion of the world (what does that say about the state of the division?), and found a way to win fights, as ugly as they were.
His crazed manager/trainer, Norman Stone, was always good for a laugh, too.

I hate him. Never liked him. HE sucks. He bores me to death but I gotta admit he wins!! That's all that matters. I don't think he's overrated.
