I like Belgians. I lived on the Canadian Army Base in Kabul, Afghanistan for 1 1/2 years and we had a big Belgian contingent there. They were such fun, cool guys. Granted the French Belgian could be pig some times but mostly everyone was so cool. I actually dated some really great Belgian guys and had some awesome Belgian friends. Some times the Canadian Military guys made fun of them, but that was because they were jealous that all the Canadian girls were dating Belgians. We were dating them because they were so fun and nice, not to mention hot!

.I'm from Belgium. All I know growing up, everybody makes fun off everybody. The French of the Belgian, The Belgian of the Dutch, the Dutch of the German. All I know is that Belgian people are the most hospital race on the planet. They like to laugh and joy live with their families. There is a lot the Americans (who are very disconnected from a lot of things) can learn from

Cause we got elephant skin and we can take it. You think of it, if you look at the history of Belgium it has been ruled by all sorts, been broken into many different bits but there is something that binds us all together and that is the Spirit that makes sure that whatever gets thrown our way it bounces back where it came from. And they need a scapegoat?
You know why they bury the Dutch with their bums up? Eco-friendly cycle racks :-))

Maybe because they are jealous ?
It's normal to laugh with your little neighbor (the French with the Walloons), the Dutch with the Flemish.
No problem we have also jokes about them.
And we don't take ourselves too serious. (except about beer and chocolate).
About being arrogant, I think you've met someone from Holland ;-)

Many French people laugh at us because of our accent, of our vocabulary which is sometimes different from theirs but never mind, we're used to it and we don't need to argue about the fact we're the best on earth because we know we are !
