I've noticed lately my laptop has been getting alot of pointless popups. I'm pretty sure this is a spyware program since I am familiar with this type of issue. I've heared of Spy-Bot: search and destory but it's free so I'm curious as to how "trustworthy" it is. Do you guys know any really good Spyware killers programs, free of charge? Also, may I ask if anyone knows how good of a program SpyBot is? Thank you.

If you download internet explorer 7, it has built in popup blocker, anti fishing, and many protective measures. As for a antispyware, windows defender is good with windows XP.
I am using ie7 and it does not allow a single popup without my permission to display. It has multiple panels in a single window, etc. It is nice. Try it.

Actually thoses FOC Spyware killers programs are all not very good. I have try the Spy-Bot: search and destory before. Its dun really kill all the spyware. But i know one of the program name spy sweeper but you must pay it but is the best program that i have ever seen. Somemore it is also recommend by many users. So if you dont mind the price you can buy that software.

Although no one anti-spyware program finds/fixes all of the spyware/junkware, Spybot Search and Destroy would be my first free choice and I would consider it very trustworthy.
It should be noted that a number of the supposed anti-spyware apps are just spyware in disguise.
Microsoft's offering is still new in comparison to the Spybot S&D.

first you need a good antivirus.. a good free one is grisoft it's free and stops pop . Next lavasoft make and excellent again FREE anti spyware program
go to their site, and choose the ad-aware SE personal.
