No more peer pressure concerning style of clothes, plus cuts down on "expensive" name brands. However, it does nothing to promote individuality, and allows no creativity.

The disadvantage/advantage for a student or for the school?
For the student
Pro : No need to plan what outfit to wear everyday.
Con : Can't drink/smoke or do anything really bad in the school uniform.
For the school
Pro : With school uniforms, a dress code would be more easily enforced.
Con : The need to make sure that students adhere to the dress code. (Not too short skirts/shorts, types of socks etc)

Advantage: it levels the playing field...everyone has what everyone else has. No one is being beaten up in order to steal their new Nikes. Also, there are a lot less dress code violations. And students could use their grades as their distinctiveness, instead of their attire.
Disadvantage: It stifles students' creativity. Students will rebel in one way or another. Some will refuse to wear the uniform or make unacceptable additions or deletions to the uniform, and will be in trouble routinely. Others will find other, sometimes more dangerous ways to express themselves when they lose this outlet for their creativity.

well firstly it signifys wot skool you attend & the pride of that skool. most skools have an uniform policy so they are able to establish who is enrolled at that skool. you may think that it sux wearing uniform, but remember if every one could just wear jeans & a Tshirt wouldnt that be classified as a skool uniform. its 2 ur advantage as well, just washing one uniform or a whole heap of dirty laundry. and if your fashion consious you would want to know what to wear different every day, and it would get boring if you wore the same pair of jeans all week, but becos everyone wears their uniform it doesnt matter cos your all the bloody same. anyhow isn't it better to save all your nice gear for a special day instead of wearing it every day, perhaps you think you look good or cool, but if you're the odd one out you will look stupid and odd one out, so think about it and consider all the options and wots really worth doing okay, sia good luck...

No higher social status among all that dress the same and there will be no gang related clothes. Everyone is treated the same and fair treatment will get you anywhere! The disadvantage is personal choice to define ones personality.

Disadvatages:
if your uniform is stained mostly white... it hard to remove a stain...
If ur in a school without uniform you will spend a lot of money for buying new clothes.. and your classmates will laugh at you if you dress your clothes last week!!! so u need a lot of money....
