Typically the CC processor (Visa/MC) will charge 1% of the transaction, then the bank will tack on an additional 2-3%. Definitely, check your CC issuer to see how much they plan to charge you.

In any case, using your credit card is still not a bad deal in terms of foreign exchange since the bank exchanges at the bulk rate, which is better than what you'll find trying to exchange currency at the banks or hotels. Just not as good as it once was.
