Ok, I know it's illegal for someone over 18 to "be" with someone under 18..but does it matter if the difference is only like a year and two months? Because my boyfriend is about to turn 18 in like a month...and I'm still 16...I was just wondering...Because he said he wouldn't do anything with me until I was 18....

In some states there is a 3 year rule.Up to the age of 19,he could still be with a 16 yo.But,if someone wanted to pursue the issue,it could still be considered unlawful depending on several factors, age of consent in your state, being first. In some states it doesn't matter if you are under 18,he can be prosecuting for unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.

I know that a girls parents cannot press charges after age 16 unless the guy is 21 or older. You would have to press them too at 16 and 18. This is in my state so you might want to look up your state guidelines under statutory rape.

Well according to our florida statuate, anyone 16 and up can have consensual sex with anyone 24 or less...and then once you are 18 obviously you can do whatever with whomever...but that's just here in florida, obviously, you may want to check with your state requirements...most states are 16 nowadays but check and be on the safe side, and make sure your boyfriend isn't just in it for the sex!

Depends on where you are. PA says the legal agoe of consent is 16 w/o more than a 4 year age difference.

The legal age of consent is 16 in most places. Double check where youl live....it might be different. An adult can date a 16 yr old as long as he/she is not in a position of authority....cop, judge, teacher, doctor, coach, tutor.....
I think your situation is okay....otherwise the cops would be arresting a lot of 18 yr olds.

Safety first then comes the age, as long as you are above 16.
It will be good if both of you can wait until you are ready.
