Why do people date outside of their race?

Why do people tend to date outside their race?
Is it because they may have heard that black men have a bigger penis than white men?Or maybe someone said that white men are more successful than black men. Or was it that black women are ghetto and rude? Which is a very ignorant stereotypical comment. Do you tend to date out of your race to get a reaction from a black or white person? Or do you date outside your race because you love that person? Do you date white women because you heard they take more of your s*** than a black woman would? Remember I am not against interracial dating. But people date outside their race for many different reasons. I for one am a intelligent, beautiful black woman with a master's degree and one child. I am not ghetto or loud,nor fat. I am fine. I own my own home and car, I get approached by black men mostly, but white men and other races too. So much for stereotypes, huh? Judge a man by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.Logic

Im married to a white guy and it's all because i love him. i guess i dont really see color when i look at him. i don't think it has anything to do with being successful since we both have the same job and make the same amount :) i would never date/not date a race because of a stereotype because it's just that-a stereotype. there are always ppl that make those stereotypes seem true (like loud ghetto black women for example) but not everyone is that way so ppl shouldnt use that as a reason not to... :) i totally agree with u, ppl shoudl be judged on their character not there skin :)

I for one date a man for who he is, not what race he is. I have dated men of all different races, and never has it been for any of the stereotypes that you mentioned, or for any other stereotype. It has always been because I liked the person they were and race was coincidental. At present I am in an interracial relationship (for about the past 2 years) but it wasn't something I went looking for, it just happened that way.
I'm just confused as to what you are really asking though. You seem really angry about something, and I don't understand what it is since you say you are not against interracial dating.

It clearly shows that you have low self esteem because as a black woman u should have said, black women are strong ??? but that clearly shows how u view yourself and the black race. Stop worrying about other people falling for who they fall for, regardless if they date simply because of skin color.

i date outside of my race because i find black women and asian women generally more attractive than white women--its just a personal preference, not so much about race, but what i personally find attractive.. i have been married twice --once to a black woman and once to an asian..i date who i am comfortable with and who i really like...i am mixed white and native american--
sterotypes are like you said, just that... i wouldnt be opposed to going out with a white woman.. i just havent really found that many that i am attracted to or feel comfortable with .. i dont know if that answers your question.. i care nothing about others reactions one way or the other..judge the woman by the content of their character and not the color of their skin, too... i do

i truly dont know i guess it is because the people that go out of their race dont really see it as a racial thing. I know that the man that i am seeing he is black but to me he is just like any other person i really dont see color or race, I see the person that he is and nothing else and that is how i have always seen him. I was married to a white man as well and he was a total *** to me but that was just who he was. There are genuine men in all races but u have to see them for people and not race.

Racism is human made and CAN be UNmade once we all realize there is but ONE race.....and it is HUMAN....period.

I have been happily married to a "Caucasian" male for over 16 years. Not because he is labled Caucasian and I am labeled Black. I married him for the qualities I admire in any human being; kindness, integrity, love, compassion, spiritually pragmatic (not religious), talented, intelligent, a steward of the land and able to cry and laugh.

IF the man who had these qualities were orange or fuscia, I would have married him.

Perspective is everything.....a limited perspective yields a limited and often times...no results.

Why wouldn't people date outside their race? What makes one race so "unworthy" of dating in another?

see its hard to tell because some people date different races because of the many things you have listed but for me i date out of my race because i believe we are all the same even thought our skin colors are different doesnt mean we all think dont think alike and everything thing esle...i date people for who they are not for they're money and cars and everything else that might matter to other people i date the person for who they are and if they are true to me and make me feel good about myself and all that other happy bulls**t..

I'm not really sure of your question because you have really answered your own question. People have preferences. People can choose to date within our outside of their race. Our heavenly father above gave all man and woman a CHOICE!
