don't be aggressive sexually, but to avoid confussion make sure you're asking her for a date. If someone asks me to just see a movie, I'm thinking as a friend. If someone asks to pick me up for dinner and a movie, it's a date.

You know what be yourself and say whats on your mind, if its not rude or insulting, that is. Guys need to realize (and girls too) NONE OF US ARE MIND READERS!!! and just STOP playing games with each other. There would be a lot less heartaches and a lot more love matching, or making (whatever). Of course everyone likes attention especially if its positive like gifts and compliments, but how long are you willing to wonder if she is "understanding" your hints? and you never know, she could be used to getting all kinds of gifts and compliments and not think anything of it. There are a lot of spoiled women (&men) out there so why waste your time? Be a man! Be upfront, and honest, then if she doesnt feel the same the faster you can find the women who will want an man like you!

~Personally.....I think friends before lovers is GREAT! I would sooo much be into the little surprises and hints. It's more fun and exciting.
Get to know each other more and appreciate and point out the small things like an expression or body language you most like about her. Watch her eyes twinkle everytime you look at her and cherish those mysterious moments together. Do the things she dreams.....romance is a key.~

I think the direct approach would be good, sexy even coz your confidence will show. a lot of guys are scared of rejection, but if you dont ask you wont know if she will or wont go out with you. its worth the risk. good luck.
