When there is hard-based fact that he is TODAY that evolution is what made us, and why alot of things happen!

The earth is BILLIONS of years old!

The big bang happened!

We evolved over countless generations to become who we ARE!

Why do people with religion not even look at the fact that is upon them, instead ignoring reason and rational thought?

Most atheists I know have actually studied much of other religions and came to the conclusion that isn't not for them!

Because that's the way that humans understand things most easily - through story-telling. It's practically built-in. Unfortunately, too many people never recieve the proper education, or are born with an unfortunate set of genes, such that they are unable to take advantage of the greater things that intellect has to offer. And so, they rely on simplistic story-telling and reproduction for giving meaning to their lives.

themicrowavemaster,
ohhhh NO! You are so wacked!

Your religion says: The earth is BILLIONS of years old!

Your religion says: The big bang happened!

Your religion says: We evolved over countless generations to become who we ARE!

"Why do people with religion not even look at the fact that is upon them, instead ignoring reason and rational thought?"
That reasonable to you. You call it religion as well. Everybody thinks the same in "religion?" I think not!

"Most atheists I know have actually studied much of other religions and came to the conclusion that isn't not for them!"
Good! But Jesus didn't say that you had to be religious. Besides, that they studied it doesn't mean that they knew what it was talking about, doesn't that sound reasonable and rational?

The things that are occuring today I can assure you would occur inspite of evolution, not because of it. There is no empirical proof for any statement you have made except that athiests have decided that religons are not for them. There is no hard based facts to back up anything you say. Scientists with an athiestic background have not even concluded among themselves that the "Big Bang" was what started it all. The theory of evolution is just that, a theory with no hard nosed proof. The Earth has not been proven to be "billions" of years old...and to disregard take your statements takes more reason and rational thought than to believe them. Because you are athiest do not conclude that you are bound by reason and thought just because it is that tool that you think you used to determine that God doesn't exist. Given the limited knowledge of man vs the total knowledge of the universe, at best you are an agnostic since the proof you require for God's existence could exist outside the scope of knowledge you have, but there is plenty of proof for God's existence within the knowledge we have gained.

Through logic and reason one can conclude when looking at a building or a painting without ever seeing that there must have been a builder and a painter, yet somehow you can look at creation and not know there is a creator. You don't see the wind, but you know its there. If you walked by 10 rows of 5 oranges, would you conlcude that they fell in ten rows of 5 by chance? Of course not, you would automatically think that someone of intelligence placed them that way. The statistical probablilty that they would fall out of a tree and land in 10 rows of 5 is impossible..yet you think that you were able to use logic and reason to prove that God doesn't exist and we evolved through chance. Does that really sound plausible to you? By chance! Come on use the very logic and reason you claim you have instead of creating an intellectual smokescreen to cover up what your mind can easily conclude.

I don't expect you to agree with me and you won't, why? Simple, because if you do not believe in God and you deny His very existence then you will never believe the things of God.

Religon was not the filler for man until science came along. There are many scientific facts in the bible that science has later proven. There is nothing wrong with science and the things man has accomplished with it. I am in total support of it, and if God wasn't then we would have never made the advances with it we have. God gave us science to figure things out, how they worked, how they were created, how to cure illnesses, etc. Science is not a tool used to debunk God's existence, if anything it has prven His existence empirically, the problem is not science it is the man conducting the science. Science in and of itself is unbiased, but when you get a person who is biased then through science the expiraments they perform will reflect that biasness.

A scientist who doesn't believe in God will sonduct science in such a manner as to make sure the results follow his original conclusion. Like I said earlier, if they don't belive in God then they will not believe in the things of God.

Your are perfectly right. Religious people can only tell stories about the creation of the universe and life on earth because they take stories in the Bible as evidence. It is nothing of the kind. The small amount we know about the universe, creation of life and evolution have emperical evidence. The stories in the Bible were an attempt to explain the unexplainable by men from a time before it was found that the earth was round not flat. We must accept what we see and try to understand the messages in the Bible and thier meaning for us.

God is alive and well. Why can't you see that? If nothing else look at nature and how things happen. Do you thank that the big bang caused animals to do what they do naturally? No God made it happen. Also look at the detail of a newborn child do you think that evolution caused that too? I don't think so! It is too detailed. Also you say that we evolved over a long period of time? If so why haven't we evolved into something else?

Many people studied evolution religion, and astronomy. Scientist, Priest, Pastors... and many others; and some of them came up with interesting concepts, and theories, and I don't think we can say we know 100% if evolution existed or if it didn't exist or their was a big bang or not. I believe we still have allot of things to be found that we have not found yet to support our ideas, and I believe that God is the main key of all of this.

I don't know how you could possibly believe in the big bang.
That's like believing with the same rational that a tornado could hit a junk yard and assemble a Boeing 747.
Open your eyes and your HEART. How can you miss the Intelligent design all around you.
God is the Beginning and the End. The Alpha and the Omega

Site your 'hard-based-facts' and make sure they are not sprung from any assuptions.

Many Christians have also studied or been involved in other religions before they joined - so that last one is no argument.

*shakes head*

Why oh why do some atheists feel offended that others might like the idea of religion?

Islam dont tell it trough stories,Islam tells it true Al-Quran, which is The true word of Allah.
Islam and science are along, together, need each other.....

The concept is like this:-

everything was created by God(the creator), God tells everything that he created to human through Al-Quran. Everything that human just recently discovered, was already told by Allah in Al-Quran. Thus, it is not through stories but infact it is based on facts,

They need a cause for everything, even the big bang. But what they fail to realize is that the universe is not a thing; it is the totality of things.
