What is this Candy called? Late 70's to 80's?

When I was a kid, I ate this candy and I loved it (70's or 80's) but can't remember what it was called. It was chocolate in a candy coated shell, (no not M&M's, didn't taste nothing like it ) it was or maybe the size of a nickel maybe alittle bigger. I thought it was made by Wonka...but could be mistaken....Can anyone help....

I don't think we're talking about Smarties here! The Wiznit and Metrobluequeen1 are onto something! It may not be Whoppers, because they are malt balls in a chocolate coating, so Oompa Loompas could be correct! I have just never seen/eaten one! You should go to one of those really good candy stores and keep eating/looking until you find it! I jusy bought some of those Popeye candy cigarettes the other day!

i am pretty sure you mean smarties! flatter than m&ms, multi-colored candy shell with chocolate inside, but the candy shell wasnt as shiny as an m&m right? has to be smarties!
