Reversing liver damage
The liver is one of the only organs in the body that is able to replace damaged tissue with new cells rather than scar tissue. For example, an overdose of acetaminophen (Tylenol) can destroy half of a person's liver cells in less than a week. Barring complications, the liver can repair itself completely and, within a month, the patient will show no signs of damage.
However, sometimes the liver gets overwhelmed and can't repair itself completely, especially if it's still under attack from a virus, drug, or alcohol. Scar tissue develops, which becomes difficult to reverse, and can lead to cirrhosis.

If your doctor told you your liver is damaged, talk with him/her about it. What yer doing here is a bit like going to the doctor, ask the other patients in the waiting room for advice and then walk out.
But if your liver really is damaged, not just temporarily exhausted or infected or whatever, there's nothing you can do except having a liver transplant. And in either case you need to stop drinking. But bet you knew that.

Try Moderation Management - http://www.moderation.org/
You won't even have to fully quit drinking.
To help keep your liver healthy take choline with inositol and milk seed thistle supplements daily. You can get them at most health food stores.
You need to try to avoid the inflammation that drinking causes to the liver. Your liver gets permanently damaged when it becomes inflamed and the surface stretches and creates scar tissue. The liver regenerates very fast, but the more scar tissue that builds up the less of a liver you have left because the scar tissue replaces the area of the liver it was in. You start to get in trouble when after many occurences a significant part of the liver has been replaced with scar tissue and you don't have enough left to service your body.

There is a way to help the liver heal itself, or at the very least prevent it from getting worse. If you have ever seen that movie called "Super Size Me" about the guy that ate nothing but McDonalds for 30 days they mention he scarred his liver at the end. They told him which vegetables and vitamins to take but they never told us in the movie. So after weeks of doing vegetables and vitamins his liver was back to normal. If all else fails see a holistic doctor, they are pretty good about finding the cause and how to stop the damage.

You can't cure it, you could get a transplant. This killed my half brother, he had drank all his life and damaged his liver and caught hepatitis and dyed. You can't live with out a liver, it is a vital organ. Stop the drinking and see a doctor now before it is to late.

For how long? Although the liver is a tough organ sometimes such damage will remain forever. A friend of mine who had quit for a year (for reasons like yours) says his liver hurt after taking the next drink a year later; he never drank again and maybe you should quit. Most people with your problem were born with a genetic pre-disposition kinda like having diabetes. Please get some counseling. You don't need to punish yourself over this, though; lots of fine people in your predicament stopped and are leading better lives now. My friend says he feels so much better that it's amazing. Best of luck.

you shouldn't abuse alcohol. If you do drink alcohol, limit how much you drink and how often. Remember it's not only the heavy drinker who gets cirrhosis. If you drink more than 2 drinks a day, you are increasing your risk.
Researchers have found numerous ways to improvise the action of common home remedies & developed proven systems to cure liverdamaged with a guarantee.Find here how people cured fatty liver at:http://adola.net/go/fattyliver-bible/
Have a good health!
