Very simple! Brain surgery.
Look at the people who lost memory! People who lost the memory do not just lose character but also lose faith and belief.
If you can identify the region in the brain that controls the imagination such as faith and belief.
You can use laser surgery to kill those cells. They will become agnostic.
After that, indoctrinize them with science and nature and educate them with disinterested method.
Finally, they will become atheist!
What do you think of my idea?

You know I've been through a lot, I'm a homosexual, I've read about and even practiced other religions with my girlfriend, I've done drugs, but you see through all of this, even learning about the witch hunts, it all brought me right back to Jesus. I still believed even through my times of being a wiccan, or at least trying to be, with my ex-girlfriend. He gives us a certain knowledge when we seek Him, there's something that can never be enough when it comes to Jesus. The only thing that could even attempt to turn a Christian into an atheist is Satan himself, but what does he hold to Gods power? Why would you want a person to stray, is it because you really don't know what that would mean for you or that person. If you could imagine the worst (maybe take 9/11) and live that through all eternity, feeling the pain, heartache, and all the suffering, do you really want to live your afterlife going through that in eternity? If you have any compassion at all you wouldn't want this for your friend, whomever your talking about, or yourself.

What's the point of turning a Christian into an atheist? I'd rather just try to make them more accepting and tolerant of other people's views, and prevent them from imposing those beliefs on the rest of us. I never really bought into the idea of atheist "evangelizing" for the sake of making more atheists.

I don't believe anyone should be trying to turn a chiristian into an atheist. A christian should be trying to lead an atheist to Christ.

Why bother? If you are an atheist then why do you care about the beliefs of anyone else? Christians try to "save" others by changing their beliefs, but why would an atheist want to do the same?

Stop trying. As an Atheist, I don't care what they think, and they have the right to think whatever they want, as guaranteed by out Constitution.
What I take issue with is people who try too hard to push their beliefs on others. That applies to Atheists as well, who should have their beliefs, but not make effort to push it on others.
If someone asks a question, answer it as you believe, but don't stand around shouting it to those who don't care.

There is not best way in fact no way at all. if a person has truly seen the love of God he can not turn away for he knows what it means to be in Christ.

Their faulty belief system is a response to a psychological need and dependency... they may not have the mental stability to face their religion is false - it would cause a psychic crisis for them. I wouldn't bother trying to convert someone to atheism, but I am for educating Christians in the fallacies of their religion.

I think that, if you just "made them read the Bible," they would read it and still believe what they believe. Rather, I think that the best way to show them that there is a possibility of it not being true is by showing them, verse for verse, fallacies in the Bible. It is easy to discount a few, but when they start piling up, it becomes harder and harder to justify their blind faith. In addition to fallacies, show them the many parts of the Bible that say that you should kill people for "sinning", and then ask them which of those sins they themselves have been guilty of.
