The Indians are only part of it, much more of it has to do with China and Mexico. What we have been accustomed to calling jobs like manufacturing and telecommunication service is being re-defined. If what Bush says is true, we've been lowering unemployment, but what are these new jobs that are being created? They are mostly jobs in the majority low-wage service sector or jobs which require high levels of education and training. American jobs are being re-defined, though apparently not taken, therefore, we are now responsible for creating jobs that allow us to live with the lifestyles we've defined for ourselves. Sustainability issues are going to become an increasing job element, though. At least we have the best landfills in the world, so we got that going for us.

Those Apache will stop at nothing... (shakes fist) No I'm more worried about energy, water, and food. I've spent time in India and it's really no danger at all. There are too many jobs that require quick and efficient service without 8 additional guys standing around. Am I worried about India depressing global wages? No, because Africa and China will beat them out. Just like when Riteaid moved a plant to Pakistan and everyone talked about how great Paki workers were until they started demanding better wages and the plant was in Indonesia in a month. Indians take a lot of graduate student positions and medical jobs in the US, but no one here can afford healthcare anyway. (and when that fad ends there will be a different ethnic group - I think the russians are edging them out of control of our physics journals as we speak) I'm angry that the 7/11's no longer serve drinkable coffee if that helps you, but I'd rather have indians than mexicans,-provided the indians are touchables.

I wish America would keep our production in our own country and make sure we all have incomes and not taking them to others countries. We have folks who need simple work and would work for basic wage also.
