Yes.
The policy of the Catholic Church is: "While the Church recommends that the pious custom of burying the bodies of the dead be observed, cremation is permitted as long as it had not been chosen for reasons contrary to Church teaching.
Cremated remains are to be treated with the same respect given to the remains of a human body, and should be buried or entombed.
The scattering of cremated remains on the sea or on the ground, or keeping them in the home, is not the reverent final disposition that the Church requires.
With love in Christ.

Yes, the Catholic Church is okay with cremation. This is a fairly recent development - only in the last ten years or so. Burial is still considered peferable, but the bottom line is that the body is to be treated with respect after death. So cremating is fine, but the ashes then have to be interned properly in a cemetary. No sprinkling them at sea or in the woods or whatever, and certainly no loading them into fireworks and shooting them off.

For conservative Catholics, they prefer traditional burial, but in general, cremation is allowed.
...For most of its history, the Roman Catholic Church had a ban in place against cremation, which was lifted in the 1960s. The church still officially prefers the traditional burial of the deceased. Cremation is now permitted as long as it is not done to express a refusal to believe in the resurrection of the body, and the church has become more open to the idea of cremation.

hiss to all haters.
No, in Catholicism, we believe that Jesus will resurrect us on the last Day, and if a body has been burnt to ash, what is left for the good God to ressurect? The most militant will tell you that an intact burial is required and that cremation is a conspiracy started by unbelievers
