First, I'll take a guess that only one hand is locked up since you used the singular, so I'll not jump to any conclusions as to how you came to this predicament. (Feel free to let us know though. :-) )
It depends on the type of handcuff we are talking about. One kind is the single-lock variety that has a lever to keep the ratchet from closing any further. These are the kind that you usually find at adult-oriented stores. These are pretty easy to pick as the keyhole is large enough to fit something like a stiff but thin wire. The release lever is away from the cuff. Just push down on that and you're free.
The other type, double-locking style that police departments use, is a lot harder as the keyhole is much smaller. Also, if the double-lock is on, it's probably next-to-impossible to pick unless you're an expert. The only advice is to get a hold of a key and use that. Military surplus stores and locksmiths can help in that regard. If it's not an issue, a police officer can be helpful, but have your ID with you as they'll do a check on you if you go that route.
Hope that helps.

It sounds like you already picked some handcuffs. I was going to suggest picking the stainless steel ones; they don't corrode as easily when exposed to body fluids.
If they haven't been locked, which prevents them from racheting down to a smaller size when squeezed, then they are pretty easy to open with a flattened paperclip and a small screwdriver to apply torque.

How could you type your question if you have handcuffs stuck on your hands?

Good men and women die because people get out of handcuffs. Why would we tell you how to get them off? Go to the local police station and ask for help. Most likely if you haven't escaped from a jail or custody situation they will help you.
Sorry kid no help from the people here.

I can ask inmate ******** tomorrow and get back to you. He can slip his cuffs any time he feels like it and no matter how tight you put them on double locked or not. The problem is he likes to get them off and start breaking them on his sink, that's when you go to immediate use of force but he can take a lot of gas. Just remember that, if you slip your cuffs it's a green light.

Ask the nice officer that put them on. It is likely that he or she is very knowledgeable in these matters.
