If you hurt as the penis first enters, the most common problem is not enough lubrication. Friction in this sensitive area can hurt! Your organs normally get wet and slippery as part of sexual arousal. Taking more time for sexual play before intercourse is often all that is needed to turn a painful experience into a pleasant one. Too fast is usually too dry.
A lubricant you pick up at the drugstore can work wonders, but don't ignore the reason for decreased lubrication, if you know what it is.
Pain on insertion might also come from inflamed external genitals. The tissue might be inflamed from a yeast infection, warts, herpes, or some other infection. Sometimes the area is tender from a benign cyst called a Bartholin's gland cyst.
Intercourse can also remain painful as long as the hymen is partly intact. If you can insert a tampon comfortably, a mechanical obstruction is not likely.

First of all why are you still having sex and he is not satisfying you. You need to tell him to take his time and to not rush. He needs to be tender and not hurried. Then guide his hands and tell him what you like. Ask him to touch you the same way. He needs to get you to that place that you are really ready for sexual intercourse. Most men just jump on top of a woman and think she is ready to receive him sexually..even though she may not be. That is what foreplay is for. That is how dryness and irritation is caused and that may be causing the pain you are feeling. When a woman is lubricated enough and actually ready to receive the penis, then it will not hurt like what you are describing. If he can not make you have an orgasm during sex, then he needs to give your oral satisfaction, so that you can be pleased also. What fun is it, if he get's his and you don't get yours? A woman can have an orgasm more easily ontop. There of course needs to be direct stimulation applied to the clitoris. Sometimes that occurs through just basic friction of movement during intercourse. Or he could touch you there while you are ontop and then you can receive your orgasm that way. But for women an orgasm is mostly emotional. It is hard to achieve an orgasm with a man who has hurt you or you feel nervous or other things that may get in the way.

Actually, most woman can't come from intercourse alone. And some can only come from intercourse and nothing else. It all depends.
If it doesn't hurt when you're on top but it does when he's on top, then perhaps he is just too rough with it. He may be putting it in too quickly/deeply/forcibly or it could be that you are just not lubricated enough when you two start. Try using personal lubrication and see if that makes any difference. Usually that is the case. Also, if it hurts, tell him to slow it down. Maybe try different positions and see if that may help. Good luck.

He may be too big but I never really heard of this so you should actually go to a GYN, get checked out, and ask her this question. She would be able to assist in giving you a valid answer to your question.

Get yourself checked at the local GYN. Although most probably you're not wet enough for your bf's c-o-c-k to enter you.

Too big for you, that's why it doesn't hurt when you're on top, because you're controlling how deep he goes.
