It depends on the cut. If it is a buzz than a dollar or two. If scissors it takes a little more time and maybe $2-$3. Was the beautician friendly, worked you in that all adds up. I have customers that I know tip me well and I will always find time in my appointments to work them in. Tipping well is a good way to secure your beautician will take good care of you.

$7 for a cut?!?

The industry norm is 15-20%. But that's kind of low when all you spent was $7. I tip at least $5 just so the person knows that you are happy with their work and they did a good job (assuming that this is true). $12 is still a great price if you can get a good cut out of it.

If the hair cut is great, 3 dollars at least. If you are not pleased, give them a dollar.

At least 15%. If you have gone to the stylist/barber before, then 20%. If you didn't get a good cut, tip anyway but never go back.

You can give as much as you like. However $2.00 would be normal. By the way, where do you go and get your hair cut? I wouldn't know anybody who would do this for $7.00. What the heck give her a ten dollar bill.

Make it an even $10. That extra dollar can only buy you a Double Cheeseburger, and those make you fat.

Technically, your would tip 20%, which would be $1.40 -- but I would personally feel uncomfortable tipping under $2.

Tell him a good tip is not to charge so much. He'll get more customers that way.
