She was a stray, so we don't know anything about her, but she's crying and crying in her kennel that we put her in for the night since she's not house-trained. She has a bunch of soft towels and a really nice stuffed animal. She's still crying though!! Help me please :(

If you have a wind-up alarm clock try putting that in there with her.
Something about the ticking quiets them down usually.
Also, any old clothing with your's or anyone else's scent who will be in contact with the puppy regularly. It will acclimate her to you quicker.

The puppy will be going through an adjustment period, so it will take time. Praise is a big factor for puppies. As for the crying, well you can only talk softly and reassure her. As time goes on, when you first kennel the puppy for the night, tell her how good she is for going in the kennel, even if you have "to put" her in there. Just have patience and get lots of treats, give her a treat when you first put her in the kennel. But do not reward her during the crying period, but if she stops wait 5 to 10 min then give her a treat and praise her. Then she will realize that after she stopped crying she got a treat. Hope it helps.

k first of all...take out the towels, toys, everything! When puppies are with their mom they often have towles or newspaper under them so they learn when they are with their mom and sleeping to just go to the bathroom. Dogs dont like going to the bathroom where they sleep so to keep this from happening no towles blankets or toys until she is completely potty trained! She will learn REAL quick that if she goes to the bathroom in there she is stuck with it and will NOT liike it at all.

Try putting her in there during the day for a few min at a time...raise the time every day. Feed and water her in there a couple times...NOT a night!! That way she knows its not punishment when she gets put in there.

At night my dog loves a big shirt or towel over her kennel to keep it dark other wise she will wine and wine so try that. I keep the front part un covered so they can obviously get air! When she is crying do not tlak to her, or take her out. NO MATTER WHAT!! Even if you think she has to go potty. Wait 5 seconds with her being quiet then right away tell her good girl and take her out. She will learn when shes quiet she gets let out. When she wines she gets ignored.

And if you want her to always sleep in her kennel dont let her sleep in your bed!! My parents did it one night and now they cant get him to sleep anywhere else.

Good luck!! and remeber IGNORE HER!!!

Puppy's like people don't just cry when they are lonely or bored, Sometimes they cry when they are really hurting.

If this is a new stray take it to the vet to insure the pup is in good physical condition, If that is not the problem give it some time to adjust.

PLEASE PEOPLE QUIT TELLING PEOPLE THAT THEY SHOULD GIVE THEIR DOGS MILK..MILK IS NOT GOOD FOR A DOG..

My dog was fearful of the cage at nite. I took a blanket and put it over the cage in a dark room with little to no sound. Worked great some days, some days not. The harder days I would let her sleep beside my bed (still in the cage). She did a lot better than. Also, try cuddling with her for about an hour before you go to bed. Massage her, rub her down while she is laying in your lap. Don't let her play. Get her nice and relaxed and tired.
I am giving you a bad food website.
Good Luck

Cover 3/4 of the kennel with a dark lightweight sheet. Other than that you MUST be strong, if you give in the puppy will never stop. Seriously, it may take a couple of weeks but its worth it in the long run. We gave in and now our dog sleeps between us. I also recommend this as well. We love snuggling with him and hearing him snore all night, its really great but mabey not for everyone.

First i might pick to declare in connection with the 1st answer you have not got the domestic dog too youthful. A domestic dog is able to circulate to a clean residing house whilst it particularly is completely weaned from his mom that's approximately 6 - 7 weeks previous 8 weeks is an ideal time to have a domestic dog and a large age for education. additionally kennel education isn't torture it somewhat is the main secure thank you to develop a domestic dog. domestic dog get into issues basically like toddlers do. We see many doggies at my activity who've eaten foreign places supplies that would desire to be surgically bumped off using fact the domestic dog became left roaming the residing house and unsupervised. A kennel isn't in elementary terms a secure place to maintain a domestic dog yet whilst the domestic dog will become older it will be it somewhat is particular place to flee whilst he or she sounds like it. I do have a guideline for you a million. doggies will bark jointly as being crate experienced you do might desire to forget approximately approximately them a sturdy quantity of the time yet this could make issues extra undemanding and velocity up the technique. whilst the domestic dog is barking in her crate do no longer look at her or seek advice from her while you evaluate that teaches her to bark for interest and reinforces it what you may do is reward her for being quiet. placed her interior the crate and whilst she is quiet for one minute provide her a cope with and say sturdy female/boy if the domestic dog starts barking rapidly turn your back to her and circulate approximately your agency until she stops as quickly as she has one minute down circulate as much as 5 minutes then 10 then 15 this might take time and various trials in spite of the shown fact that it does artwork. in case you will such as you additionally can upload a blanket and placed the blanket over the cage whilst she barks then whilst she stops take the blanket off and reward her making use of the comparable time administration. this might practice her that if she desires to go searching and be somewhat of the family members she has to have manners :) elevating a domestic dog is hard artwork and that i pick to propose which you study a clicker education e book while you evaluate that seems the least perplexing way for persons to coach yet do no longer challenge you will get it and your domestic dog would be basically advantageous :) sturdy luck!

How young of a puppy is it? If it is very young, I would suggest making sure it has a blanket and using a water bag filled with warm water, slip that in with your puppy under the blanket. Also add an old-fashioned ticking alarm clock. This soothes the puppy because the ticking seems like another heartbeat and the warmth from the bag seems like a warm presence.

when i got my puppy she did that 2 but you have to just ignore her because otherwise she will think that if she whines she gets attention

after about three or four nights she will learn to not whine and she'll stop all together

u gotta train her

we did that with my puppy (same age) but in my bedroom and she hasnt whined in her kennel since

but i recommend earplugs so it wont bother you and it will be easier to ignore her

the worst thing you can do is give her attention so just ignore her as soon as you put her in and the lights go off so she will learn what that means, bedtime.

Talk to the puppy. It is just scared. Tell the puppy that it has to be here for the time being. Love the puppy hold the puppy. Dogs understand and love just like humans do. IF you talk to dogs and tell them whats going on they will not bark as much or cry as much.

IF a child is lost from its parents, and is crying, if you talk to it and tell the child whats going on it will calm down and be okay. So just talk to the puppy.
