For free? A combination of Spybot and Ad-Aware; each one catches something the othe doesn't and together they are great.
For a price? Norton.

Not sure about anit-spyware but Norotn is probably the best for anti-virus protection. They also have spyware programs.
If you are looking for a free one, apparently AVG is the best free program.

I really like Norton Antivirus and Spyware Doctor, although Norton comes with spyware protection now, so we might just use that.
