It depends on where they are slapping the child...
Across the face then yes, if across the butt then no...
Too many people automatically think abuse if they hear that a child is being struck; it's become d@mn near impossible to discipline kids these days.

Cussing at anyone is a form of verbal abuse but it is more a reflection on the parents bad habits than it is bad parenting...

Threatening your child's physical well being is definitely abuse but hearsay cannot be used as a grounds to take the child unless an agent from a protective services facility is directly witness to it...
But it still shouldn't happen....

Yes,There are 2 types of abuse, physical and verbal abuse. Either way a child don't deserve it since it still don't have a sense of right from wrong. Be careful especially at 3-5 y.o. (toddler), it's the formation stage of the child, as he'd grow up it is that particular stage that he'll retain much information, thus it's the most crucial stage. You need to have a balance between punishment & toleration.

Each behavior you describe fits the legal definition of abuse. That person who behaves in such a manner needs immediate help, and so does his/her child. Don't worry about getting them in trouble; such behavior typically escalates until there are very very serious consequences, including the death of the child. If that happens and you knew of the abuse and refused to "meddle", you're guilty of being an accessory to the crime. How would you feel knowing you were partially responsible?

This is very much abuse....U cant slap a child anymore.
U can spank their hiney. Cursing a child is profanity and is
a crime. The best punishment would be to take the childs
TV away for a week. Forget about spankin em, which doesnt
do much good these days.

Gee,on the face of this question, I would have to say probably. But then I have to wonder what on earth the child might have done to bring out such behavior in a parent.
Still, violence, hitting someone, is the last resort of incompetents.

Yes....Yes....Yes!!! All of those things are child abuse. Children need to be treated gently. They are still learning and often don't know when they are doing wrong or getting on your nerves. Give them a break, when frustrated with them give them a hug and a kiss, you'll both feel better.

absolutely. Anything that degrades or intimidates a child or if a child is hit bad enough for it to leave a mark then yes, it is abuse.

you shouldn't question things like this. Call the police and Childrens services. If you are a minor and scared talk to a teacher that you trust. Abuse is abuse, doesn't matter if it happens everyday.
