Well, when I was 5, I remember that the very first woodworking project I did was to "build" a boat to float on a pond. I actually found the appropriate shaped piece of excess wood in my father's shop cast-offs, and managed to attach a "mast" to it and make a sail out of paper.
Maybe you could put the already cut and shaped pieces of wood into goody bags, with glue and paper and some poster paint to personalize the sail. I'd suggest including instructions for the parents to follow to help their sons put their boats together.

Hi! You said you've been all over the internet. I Googled "Preschool Games" and "Preschool Crafts". I'd also suggest websites such as Crayola.com, magazines like Parenting, and early childhood education sites.
Have fun!!!

This procedure is known as spoon painting, the child has a spoon the teacher puts the paints in cups and they put the spoon in and drop the paint on the picture it is better to write child's name before you do drop the paints. After the child drops 3-4 spoon of paint they fold the paper on half and slide their hand over the paper open the paper they have a beautiful butterfly. They can also marble paint where you have a card board box and put paper inside the box, child drops paint you can use the spoons also for this put in 4-5 marbles the child shake and make the marbles roll to make their own creation, it is best to write the children names before they start the activity hang to dry of lay flat. Put large paper over the table, child can make a giant collage frames the part the child does and write on the picture frame what they said they created.

Here's one I'm having my kids do at Christmas for their grandparents.
Snow Globe Craft
--Empty baby food jars
--Small figurine
--Water
--Glitter
--Super Glue
1. Clean baby food jars
2. Glue small figurine to inside of lid. Let dry.
3. Fill jar about 2/3 full of water.
4. Add glitter.
5. Apply glue to rim of jar.
6. Screw on lid.
7. Let dry completely.
You can also add a bow around the lid.
Hope this helps!

If you are planning to start on your woodworking project, this isn't something you should use, it's something that you would be insane not to. Go here https://tr.im/pUEPI
Truth is, I've been a carpenter for almost 36 years, and I haven't found anything like this for less than 10's of thousands of dollars.

How about a simple sock puppet?
You could put a sock, some googly eyes, some yarn for hair, and a couple of small pieces of felt-for tongue, tie, bow etc.
into the grab bag!
Don't sweat it too much, just have fun!

Construction paper, glue, scissors, glitter. (have the kids construct whatever they want.
Go to the dollar store and buy a bunch of picture frames. Frame each picture and send home with the child. It'll look like art so the parents will probably hang it in the childs room.

Take bunch of Polaroid group picture of all the kids during party. Before they leave, just put picture in the hand made picture flames! (can be made with foam sheets with decoration with glitter pens, pompoms, and other stuff you can find in the craft store., or cheap photo flame and decorate them) You should let kids decorate their own flames! Can be the fun activity during party!

I do, sorry if you don't like my idea{s}. You can get some paper plates and get some paint, and get the kids to paint a face or design on the plate.
