There is no excuse for this, as She already knows the reasons behind it. You should not look for excuses, but look for ways to perform this duty in the best way you can.
Blessed Be.

I'd go on the offensive. Get in his face and really chew him out. Tell him he can't take off for millenia and just expect things to run themselves. Tell him his instructions were for **** that you can't kill all the fags and not commit murder at the same time, you're only human. Tell him the douschebags he left in charge were useless, that the second his son was out of the office they gave up any work and just goofed off and played politics. Tell him if you hadn't come upstairs to talk to him things down there would contine to go to Hell. Tell him he needs to manage things or find someone who can. Then tell him to send you back down there so you can get some GOD DAMNED work done!

I think he can look through excuses so just say your sorry. Or better yet fulfill your duty right now so you don't have to worry about that.

Excuse is not the answer. If you feel that GOD is asking this of you, then you must admit the truth and only the truth........

GOD won't accept excuses, only the truth. I'd change my ways before that situation arose.
