Honestly. I choose to follow God. I choose to go to church. I am an intelligent person. I wasn't always a christian. No one programmed me. This was a free choice. So why are we always thought of as naive and brainwashed? I think it is those who are against us that are naive and brainwashed.

p.s. I'm not a republican. I'm not a gay basher.

I believe in what's right and wrong and I have my reasons. However, when I said, "those who are against us" I meant those who rally and cry against us. Not those who simply disagree and keep to themselves.

Because people dont want to know the truth... They want to remain in darkness and the only way they can do that Is belittle you. Think about? The bible states that the things which christians speak of is foolishness to the World... They think we're crazy! And quite frankly Im tired of compromising who I am as a chrisitian in order to validate a non beliveres existence...They get offended when you tell them that just being "nice" isnt gonna get you there.... That they have to make choice between the world and GOD or that a choice WILL be made for them and they get angry.... You werent programmed.... And Im not naive.... there are things happening in the WORLD that people cant see because they are influnenced by the world... They dont think that naked women on tv at 7pm is wrong.... after you've eaten dinner with your kids you flip on network tv and people are engaging in fornicating and homosexual acts... It's okay! it's the new NORM.... your not crazy and keep declaring your faith in God!

Because....I had many friends as a teenager, who would go to a youth group retreat for their church, come back and break up with boyfriends/girlfriends because they weren't of the same exact religion as my friends. Doesn't that sound like brainwashing to you? Now, I don't think that all Christians are brainwashed, and if being Christian is helping you with your life, then good for you, do what you want. But a lot of things that Christians say - like that masturbation is a sin, and that you'll go to hell if you masturbate and don't ask for forgiveness, but if you murder someone and then ask for forgiveness, you can still go to heaven - seem absurd, illogical, and like one MUST be brainwashed to believe them. I have morals - but my morals are based on logic. For example - you should not cheat on a boyfriend or girlfriend, because it hurts that person, and you are deceiving someone you are supposed to love, for a lousy lay. You should not hurt animals. Everything in moderation. A glass of wine a few nights a week won't hurt you, but drinking a 12 pack a day is excess and has been shown to have adverse affects (to your weight and more).

A lot of Christians believe homosexuality is wrong. I see no logical reason that it is wrong. It doesn't hurt anyone. If people want to love each other, then they should, even if they are of the same sex. I hope I'm making some sense to you. Bottom line - I don't think all Christians are brainwashed, but some are.

Because often extremists have a hard time understanding that other people of intelligence would choose something different than them. An person of intelligence can choose to be any religion or be an atheist. But only a mentally stable person can respect another persons choice.

I can imagine why people would think that of certain people.
If you look at a 'christian' cult / sect that "forces" its members to break connections with all friends and family, and only have contact with other members, that would come close to brainwashing.
If you look at certain groups that think it is "right with God" to protest at (military) funerals with hateful messages, i again understand why people would think they are brainwashed.
Problem is, people in general will apply a certain characteristic displayed by one or a few members, to all members of a certain group or religion.
So, as long as there are 'weirdos' in christianity, there will be people that think all christians are weird.

But that goes for every religion.

Some are brainwashed because they feel it is ok to put down others and leaders of other religions. Christians who are true to Jesus would never be insulting or spit venom at others (like Muhammad, Buddha, etc.) It's because of your false belief that Jesus died for you sin that makes your people naive. Now if you pray to God (not Jesus) to show you the light, pehaps you will snap out of it.

Maybe we like to assume that you couldn't possibly be this stupid on your own. Seriously, the basis for your belief system is a really old book, that, to be honest (and more than fair) isn't a great read.
After running into so many people who quote scripture, say that they've experienced miracles, and tell the rest of us were going to burn in hell, tortured by a guy with goat legs, horns, and a pitch fork, You can begin to understand why we make the assumption that you're all nuttier than a squirrel's pantry.

If you go into the Pig Sty, you will get mud on you and all of your questions will be answered with a loud OINK!

If you discuss trash with trash, your answer will be TRASH!

If the trashy questions and ethics do not apply to you, why respond to them?

Noticed how it is mostly Christianity that gets beat on most of the time, while others that abdicate and practice ethics that smack at any level of decency are never mentioned.

Consider those that abdicate killing a female if the male even imagines that she insulted, or defamed him or the family.

Or those that practice little or no education for the female.

And they say that their perfect spiritual leader demands such behavior/laws.

Do not question the pigs nor condemn them, just throw them an ear of corn and listen to them OINK!

I don't think you're brainwashed, more likely you're lazy. If you were truly an intelligent person, you'd have put the time and effort into learning other viewpoints, specifically the scientific view. Christianity is easy. One book, nice pat little answers to all the mysteries of life, but no truth.

Faith is the path of least resistance.

Its funny but we are all ways asked to prove that God is alive or exists, The people who are constantly challenging us always say don't use the Bible but why do we have to defend God. Let them try to prove other wise. Even the Father of Evolution died believing in creation Yet teaching Creation is illegal If anyone is brainwashed then It isn't us
