He's harrassing me.?

Question

This boy in my class keeps harrasing me. I cant tell if he actually likes me, or is just doing it to see my reaction and make fun of me, seeing as how i am younger than he is. he whistles and makes a lot of awkward pick up lines and wont leave me alone, and it makes me uncomfortable but i dont know what to say. im kinda shy so im bad at just saying "go away leave me alone" but i want to be able to deal with it by myself. telling a teacher or a parent would just complicate things and make it a bigger deal than it actually is, so i don't want to do that. Does anybody else have this problem, or advice?

I just thought that i would add that he says awkward comments about me it in front of everybody. and it seems that if somebody really liked you, they would be too embarassed to tell you outright in front of a lot of ppl. so im pretty sure hes making fun of me, but i want to stop it on my own and stick up for myself. i really dont want to make a teacher deal with it because i dont want to look like the lame geeky girl who cant deal with anything. what should i say to him? (oh yeah and hes really big and scary and could beat you up in a second so nothing too mean)

i kno what ur going thru. he mite like u or he mite not but either way- all guys like that are jerks who- whether their long term goal is to get witchu or not- are ultimately just trying to make u feel uncomfortable. he just wants to get a reaction out of u and if u just ignore him he will give up. if that doesn't work try to make up some tottaly mean comebacks that'll shut him up. if not, try talking to him about it. pull him aside and tell him how his comments make u feel. and if u really do start to feel super uncomfortable then it is time u talk to ur teacher or mom. and if none of that works- come find me and i'll whoop his @$$. lol! j/k, but good luck sweetie!!

This is called sexual harassment. Schools as well as ALL work places have a zero tolerance on this. You could tell him if he doesn't stop you will make a bigger deal out of this than needed. He doesn't like you or he would respect you. He is being a jerk, as many men are before they mature (some never do.) But you shouldn't have to deal with it.
Of course, there is the other alternate thought... maybe he is just playing and doesn't realize that you don't like it. If you don't tell him, he won't know. Men can never read our minds!

Yes, I did. I started ranking the pickup lines and moved away from him. We are really good friends now. Don't be shy, some of his awkward lines have to be funny!

well i did and i just asked him what he was doing and he sad nothing i just like you and so i dated him and he was cool but if hes over doin it tell him to stop
