sounds like a repo happened behind on payments in jail? Now the attorneys will have to sort it out. They should not have had title to the car to sell unless it was paid for and auctioned something is fishy here. Quit paying report the car stolen call your insurance company, belong to AAA? they help in these cases. If not hire a attorney. I know that doesn't sound so good right now!

Your car is history. Unless you buy it ~again~ from the new owner, you'll never get it back. It was repo'd and auctioned off by the lender due to your non payment. Good chance there is also a balance due the lender. It is the difference from what is still owed and what it was auctioned for. You need to contact the lender yourself to confirm what is owed and make arrangements for payments with them directly, not the dealer.

Knowingly filing a false police report could land you back in jail..."you knew your car was not stolen"

If it was auctioned the title isn't in your name anymore. You still need to pay the dealer for it. A lawyer might be able to get you out of the debt, though.

You don't have a car, jailbird. All you have is a debt. Ask the dealer what the balance is after the sale, pay it off and save up for another one.

the car is no longer in your name if it was auctioned off. and you will not be able to get your car back. you are paying of your lien. You might be able to roll whatever you owe into another car payment.

You're paying the FINANCE agreement. If the title has been re-assigned, you cannot get it back.
