it could possibly stunt your growth if you overdid it and damaged the growth plates in your bones, in other words if you break a leg. Done right and in moderation it will increase your mass and as most of the guys i knew in high school it actually boosted their growth. I know a guy that hadnt done much lifting at all and at age 25 started. he was 5'11" when he started and 145lbs after a year he was 6'3" and 185lbs. so you tell me does that sound like he stunted his growth? proper nutrition is also a major factor when working out as your body will rob from the rich to give to the poor. in other words it will break down other tissue to feed the muscle as it grows.

lifting heavy weights puts pressures on your muscles and bone structure.

Why does weight lifting stunt my growth and not helping my mom move the heavy boxes in the garage? because lifting weights its prolonged exposure. If you keep weight lifting it will stunt your growth some. After the age of 16 you stop growing rapidly so you will only lose 1-4 inches. It is best to wait till you are 20 if you are serous.

You can always do other things to help with muscle development that isnt so rough on your body. or you could always risk it and lift, i mean your at your hight now, you cant miss what you dont have.

It is a foolish myth. Weightlifting, done under the supervision of a certified trainer, is good for you.

I think its possible

cuz lifting weights make your muscles smaller I think

but if it did it wouldn't be dramatic you know what I mean

and I think wieght lifteing should start at a certain age
I think you will deffinitley decrease your potential hieght if you start lifting too early
