Mongolia:

I spent (or wasted, depending on your point of view) about two years travelling to about 50 countries and I actually developed a favorite in Mongolia. The most interesting thing is that I think at this date, about 60% of the country is still nomadic and once you go out to the countryside, it's a bit like being in a different world. In the countryside, many traditional customs are observed, the landscape is beautiful, there is no land ownership so you just camp anywhere, and there are lots of lakes and valleys that are quite untouristed. Some routes are fairly well touristed by backpackers though. That also means it is easy and cheap to rent a 4x4 with a driver and translator. Food is a bit of a problem for some cuz it's mostly fatty mutton and dairy products in the summertime. Anyhow, you can do some more research but this is my answer..... Happy trails!

New Zealand is awesome for extreme sports. The Perhentian Islands in Malaysia for beach relaxing and scuba diving. Cuzco, Peru - go see Macchu Picchu. Travel is enlightening. All Americans should get out of the country occaisionally to see how the rest of the world percieves us. Eye opening. Beats the heck out of 9to5ing it, too

I agree with Jonnie that London is a great place to visit.

Although there are many British who don't approve of Americans, particulary the elderly. But if you stick around with the younger crowd that's fine, since they like Americans.

There's no other place like London. Not even in England. It's such a unique city with so much to offer. An expensive city too!
