There are connections with small nerve fibers going to muscle groups.. there is an irritation triggering these spasms, neurological in origin. What is triggering those impulses would best be determined by much closer examination and evaluation.

Possibly a lack of a vitamin.
Do you take a multiviatmin?
I had spasms not long ago and
was told it was just nerve endings
doing something strange and it would
go away. It finally did.

I wish I were a physician to answer better, but I asked the doctor yesterday why I kept having spasms in my legs and thighs at night.....several things can cause it he said.....low sodium, potassium (each bananas) and slight dehydration(drink more water).....he wasn't too concerned at this point, but yours are in your hands?????????????
