When did guys stop buying dinner when you go on an evening date? It seems to be a trend. I don't expect an expensive meal but it would be nice to have a light snack or something during the 2 or 3 hour get together. I know these are blind dates met online but when I used to meet people years ago through phone dating, we always met for dinner and sometimes even a movie. I get tired of eating early so I can meet someone at 6 or 7. Do anyone else experience this?

even a coffee and a pastry or an ice cream would be nice while we sit and talk. I know I was off the dating scene for many years but gee things have changed.

I guess I come from the old school but when a man asks me out I think it is just polite to offer something. I am no women's libber and never have been. When you just sit and talk to someone you just met, it is more like an interview than a date. It is just nice to be doing or eating something when you are out with someone so you aren't in each others face and if you have a akward moment, you can talk about the food or stuff.

Actually I always take a first date out to dinner and then something after that. I don't believe that guys should let the woman pay at least not until they are comfortable with eachother. Guys that don't pay for meals or there dates are really cheap. I was raised to be a gentleman whether if the times are chaging or not.

Well if it is the first time you are meeting a guy from on-line I can kinda understand. He doesn't know you well enough to go on a date.... but he is curious to meet you to see if there is a spark there. If the man asks you out a second time, then it should involve dinner..... If not he is an ******. He has to figure out if your someone he wants to impress first. Unfortunalty no matter how much you have chatted to him on-line, there is only one way to find out if your attracted to someone in person.

yes...I think men make the girl pay when they really arent interested. On one date, we decided to meet at a bakery, it was in the morning, it was in my hometown. The guy orders and I ordered and we both looked at each other, he stepped back like he wasnt going to pay and I walked out of the bakery and went home. I was/am fed up with cheap men. It was a donut and OJuice for christ sake.

Maybe if you offered to pay for the food, There would be no problem.

The days of women just assuming the man would pay for dinner are over. (by women's choice)
Women want to be treated as equals, When I go out with my buddies they don't expect me to buy them anything.
