my guy & I are interested in going to Tahiti &/or Bora Bora & staying in an overwater bungalow for our honeymoon (May, '07)
does anyone know how we can do this most economically incl. airfare?

Check the sites of Tahitian airlines airtahitinui.com and airtahiti.pf. They have awesome deals sometimes. Also check Air New Zealand's site for specials. They fly to these destinations and often have vacation deals. Bora Bora is quite awesome, some of our stories below:

Tahiti and Bora Bora are both beautiful places. However, if you take the extra 2 hours in an airplane and maybe a few extra bucks in air fair, I would recommend flying to Fiji. You will pay a bit more to get there, but once there you'll save more money on ground transportation and accommodations. Fiji is basically Tahiti. It has the same over water glass bottom bungalows, ocean life, scuba diving, white sand beaches, etc. The only difference is the cuisine. Tahiti is more French, since it's part of the French Polynesian. Fiji is not. This is also the reason for the price differences.
