A guy knows that women are intrigued by men who are powerful, athletic, rich(Lots of money), good looking, smart or intellectual. Therefore, when a guy meet a woman it is the same as submitting your resume to an employer. You want to sell yourself so that you can get the job or get in the door or get nto her life. For a man, the world is competitive, and you are competing with other men for women, jobs, sex, and everything.

Dating is about deception - that's the way everyone is, man or woman. Men tend to be a little less honest because they want to get in bed though. But the best way to get a good one is to date for a long time and never get in bed - that will show what he's really wanting.

Would you give a guy a chance in a relationship that does nothing his whole life but play games or a guy who goes to the gym or surfs or writes books for a living? You wouldn't care for the gamer even if he was a really nice guy, you'd go straight for the surfer because he's a cool guy. We gotta lie to get a chance.

Men & Women both do it, some more than others. Personally I find it a turn off if a guy sits there yammering on about himself and how great he is.

That's not true of all man. Perhaps they feel they have to pretend to be something they're not to be more appealing.... when in fact, the truth will come out. It's best to be oneself from the get go.

they want to make themselves more attractive so that they can guarentee a first date. what they DON'T realize is eventually the women will figure out that "hey-this guy has never been on the moon before...little FREAK" and their hearts will be broken even more. BE YOURSELF!!!!

Everyone does that with everyone. Do you go to a job interview & tell them you get drunk in your boxers every friday night? I think not. Of course you want to tell people things to make them like you , it's human nature.
