Honoring a Sabboth day unto the Lord is important and is reafirmed throughout God's word.
Exodus 20:11, Leviticus 26:2, Deuteronomy 5:12, Hebrews 4
Jesus in Matthew 12 helps us understand that the day was made for man and not man for the sabboth. In other words, dont get legalistic about it, it was made that we might have time to reflect on God's abundance, encourage one another, study God's word and worship God collectively.
The traditional sense of the Sabboth was on the 7th day or during a Sabbatical year it was the seventh year. This day was the last day of the week, or Saturday.
The concept of fellowship in the New Testament was shown to occur continually in Acts 2:42 and the example that Christ portrayed of the Sabboth connotates that the particular day that it is observed is not important, it's the principle of observing it consistently is where the importance lies.

Go whenever you feel the need to be near God. Sunday morning service is the most important service of worship, and the church is usually packed, so get there a bit early -- or extra early for Sunday school before the service.

Some churches are quite comfortable and do not necessarily still use the old hard, wooden pews. Those benches are uncomfortable, and one church has been using more comfortable chairs now (see attached.)

Psalm 27:4 the one thing i ask of the Lord-the think I seek most- is to live in teh house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord's perfections and meditating in his temple

Psalm 84:4 how happy are htose who can live in your house, always singing your praises.

Ephesians 2:19-22 Now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God's holy people. You are members of God's family. We are his house, built on the foundation fo the apostles and the prophets. and the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself. We who believe are carefully joined together, becoming a holy temple for the Lord. through him you Gentiles are also joined together as part of thios dwelling where God lives by his Spirit.

Big one here: Hebrews 10:25 Let us not neglect our meetin together, as some people do, but encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of his coming back again is drawing near.

Ephesians 4:3-6 Always keep yourselves united in the Holy Spirit, and bind yourselves together w/ peace...

The church thing is a man made thing. Staying in touch with Your Maker is the important thing. Every week we recreate part of this world, so doing what our creator did after his week of work was to look back over it to see what he had done. We should do the same before going forward in the wrong direcrtion. That is why our creator said Remember the Sabbath Day so we could stop and get in touch with him evrey so often and get our lives back on course before we go forward. Now you know why the world is in such trouble.

It is not necessary although it would please God. You and the people are the church so long as you talk and pray and study the Bible. On Sundays is when church is usually held. May God guide you and show you the way. You must accept Christ as your personal Savior and you will seek eternal life God is giving to us so long as we accept his gracious gift. May God bless you and keep you forever. =)
