Your dentist will give you an anesthetic which will dull or more less eliminate the pain when it's taken out. But you will have some pain later on, though it is bearable, unless it's one of your wisdom teeth.

Those hurt like **** ( once the anesthetic wears off) but they do give you a pain killer to take for a few days and that's effective.

Sorry - don't want to scare you, but I am assuming you want an honest answer.

I don't know about the smoking part, but I can't imagine that you should smoke for awhile since the smoke is probably not good for what is essentially a wound in your mouth.

Getting your teeth pulled doesn't hurt. Your dentist will put anesthetic on your nose and you'll start hallucinating. When your dentist is about to pull it out, don't be scared it only takes like 5 or 10 seconds. You'll hear like cracking noises when they pull on it, and when its done they'll give you cotton to bite on so it'll stop bleeding. hope you like it

Taking the tooth out doesn't hurt. Your dentist will numb your mouth before taking it out. Yes it is true that you can't smoke afterwards otherwise you run the risk of not healing very well or worse still getting a dry socket. Follow your dentists instructions and you will be fine.

Getting a tooth pulled won't hurt, you will be given local anesthesia (novocaine) It maybe uncomfortable afterwards, the doctor will give you instructions as to what his recommendations are for discomfort following the procedure. As for smoking, the standard is to NOT smoke for at least 48 hrs !!! any sort of suction in your mouth will disturb the clot your body is forming to help the site heal, and you may end up with a dry socket, which is extremely painful!. No sucking on Straws either for the same reason. and FYI if you have to go for 48 hrs without smoking why not think about quitting altogether, it will improve the overall health of your mouth.
Good Luck!

not if you're medicated. Honestly, if you have a good doctor he will have you so out you won't know your mother's name. I wouldn't smoke afterward; they generally don't want you eating for a while. Straws will break stitches--that I know. So, I think a cigarette would to. It's okay. Don't worry. Think about how many teenagers get four taken out at once all of the time. You just have one tooth. From hearing most people, I haven't had trouble with this, it only hurts if you get a dry socket afterward. I'm not sure exactly what that means, but apparently it's enough for a lot of people to complain. So fill your perscription and make sure your doctor scrimps on nothing. Have a ride home and enjoy nirvana.

I had a wisdom tooth cut out a couple weeks ago. The Dentist numbed my mouth and gave me laughing gas. I didn't feel a thing. It was easy. But later that day the pain started and I ended up with dry socket. It has been horrible. I have lost 10 lbs since I had it removed due to being sick. I am still recovering. 5 years ago I had a wisdom tooth cut out and I was fine. This time was a little different and It was the Dentist fault. He took my tooth out knowing I had an infection, then didn't put me on antibiotics until a week later when he noticed the dry socket. I don't think I will go back to him. You will most likely be fine if it is just a regular tooth. My daughter had one of hers removed 3 years ago and it was a breeze.

Yes, it hurts. You probably won't want to smoke for awhile - it is a good time to quit with $5 packs and all.

Not if you are doped up and knocked out I had all of my wisdom teeth cut out and i did not know my own name for at least two days. If the dentist knows what they are doing it shouldn't hurt that much. The dentist advises you not to smoke but i am not sure why .
