You get more dates that way, 10 times as many the experts say. I know this is a trivial detail but I want to hear what the people have to say. Are we all suffering from low self esteem. The people that use their kids or pets are the worst. Just keepin it real. Oh and by the way, using profanity is a sign of true ignorance.

I guess I struck a nerve. I just feel like we live in a nameless, faceless society that's all. And that makes it too easy to say and do things that you shouldn't-no accountability. I personally have nothing to fear and welcome negative feedback. I take issue with swearing because their may be minors on here and that's just the way I was raised. So you see I am not a bad person and I do have moral values. I also have a girlfriend and am not looking for a date, just friends to share ideas with and maybe flirt a little but what is wrong with that?

i don't look for dates online, plus most of these people are way to young for me to consider flogging....their moms would be upset, their dads would be wanting to hook up, the police could get involved, LOL. you know what i'm saying? plus the same freaks you meet here and available in real life, online just expands your a s s hole ratio

I have no idea why, my guess they are to insecure of what others think, as for me I could care less. If people dont like the way I look than thats their problem not mine. And I do agree with the girl who said its because the avatars are hotter. Society and media has caused people to think the only way they can be beautiful is to be super skinny and that they have to be perfect and flawless to be beautiful, in reality everyone has flaws and people should feel beautiful for the way they are and with what they were given, and in a perfect world we wouldnt focus so much on beauty because its superficial, and the media tries to ground into us that we have to be and look a certain way to be beautiful.. You shouldnt want to look like some plastic supermodel bimbo.. sorry to bore you with all my endless ranting,

I am not on here for dates, so I don't see a point in putting a picture on here. On top of that I am not nearly as vain as most people so I dont keep pictures of myself on my computer. In fact I don't take pictures of myself either so I really have no portraits to put on here if I wanted to. I also don't see how it is wrong to use pets or children for your picture, I mean what does it matter to you? Maybe those people dont want others to see what they look like, anonymity has its benefits after all. In any case, my avatar looks somewhat like me so I feel no need to go through the effort of taking my own picture and putting it on here when I really don't care.... If I want a date I go meet people in the real world, not internet land...lol
PS I am also too lazy to set up a 360 account and I really don't want one anyway.....

A lot of people are sufferring from low self-esteem. As some may say is caused by our society's ever apparent focus on looks. Or, they're like me & are dirt poor & don't have a digital camera or a scanner :-(

I don't use pictures just because I'm lazy and don't want to down load a pic. I have pics on myspace but thats becuase I talk to my friends ever day on there. Not that people on here are not my friends but this cyber world not the real world where I live.

My self-esteem is just fine thank you very much.
I don't use an avatar because I don't want to be pigeon-holed. I've noticed the answers are different depending on what the avatar looks like.
For example...I've seen derogatory answers to some blond avatars as though they were stupid. I like my way better.

I know I don't use a picture because I don't feel safe doing so. Chances of something happening to me because someone saw my picture is slim to none but it makes me feel safer on the internet. Plus, with all the creeps out there it is a little intimidating.

i don't need any dates at all...I'm happily married

i think the kids and pets are better than avatars, avatars are so generic that they all look the same

Sorry, my intelligence is my best asset. I like the pictures of my kids over my own because they are so darn beautiful to me. And as for profanity, I love talking like a sailor because it puts people off.

I just put my real pic on today when I made my 360 profile. Maybe some people don't have a 360 profile or they don't want one. You can't use a real pic on here unless you do.
