You're totally right, Mexico has stricter immigration laws than we do so it seems very hypocritical that they criticize when we decide to implement them.

As Magneto said, the US has extensive immigration laws. What it doesn't have is a population that will pony up the funds needed to enforce them. So many Americans whine about illegal aliens, but will not encourage their legislators to fund DHS properly in order to enforce the laws that exist. They would rather pay less tax, watch DHS struggle, and then complain about their laziness and inefficiency while demanding expedited service for their personal "pet" immigrants (spouses, fiancees, parents, etc) and instant expulsion for others.
We all have read newpaper stories about the wonderful man/woman/high school student/whoever who was sent back to the country where he was born and the friends, school mates, co-workers and neighbors are outraged that the cold-hearted "government" would do such a cruel thing to such a nice person.
As Marge Simpson once said, "I don't know why they're picking on Apu. He didn't do anything wrong except break the law."

Contrary to what some have said here,we do not need new immigration laws, what we need is our own government to grow some cojones and implement the laws already in the books, our problem is not the laws,it's the politicians that benefit from illegals crossing the border, most local politicians in border cities will turn the other way when an illegal is caught doing a crime yet will be real tough against a US citizen

The US DOES have immigration laws. Sometimes they're not real easy to enforce - we don't have a barbed wire fence and minefields along our borders like some countries do. And we have long borders, and it's a really big country compared to most. Plus a lot of people really want to come here.

Maybe it is a better question to say why is the US treated like crap because we want to make our immigration laws as strict as other countries?
I agree! We are told what racist pieces of crap we are because we want to do something other countries have done for years. It is stupid.

1) We do have immigration laws.
2) We are the 2nd largest country in the world with a negative birth rate, after Russia, which would mean that if we didnt let people migrate here, then we would all die out eventually.
