Are you giving cheerfully from the heart, or are you letting the tax payers pay your tithes?

no my tithes and giving to really anything that I give to don't go on my taxes. I usually just pitch those receipts when they come. But to be perfectly honest with you, I never though about it, for me it is just one less thing to deal with in the tax realm than any kind of worrying about what I give and get back.

Writing it off your taxes is legal (still) and has no bearing on the state of mind when given. Also, it isn't letting the tax payer pay your tithes. You pay taxes on what you earn. I have no way of knowing, but I suspect that you pay very little in taxes, probably because you don't make any money. So in fact, you are living off the real tax payers.

I don't know about everyone else, but when we go to file our taxes, the preparer always asks about contributions. I give her the amount of money we've contributed throughout the previous year, whether it's to the church or to a charitable organization. What happens from there, I'm not sure. We don't have enough deductions to itemize anyhow, so it may not matter in the long run. But whether we turned it in or not, we still are faithful to tithe, and that on the gross income, not the net. Hope that answers your question.

What a question, The church world will have a hard time this one. Giving an offering to the church is a good thing.
The problem here is, paying tithes using fake money a/k/a " Dollars ", Is very bad. God is not going to bless anyone who uses a fake offering. Remember Cain.
The entire money system in use today in the US is completely fake.

first of all, I'M a tax payer. I work.

i give cheerfully from the heart, but God expects us to use our brains and make good use of our money. so do i claim tithes on my taxes? you bet. God says in His Word not to be foolish with our money.

and the "tax payers" don't pay my tithes - I do. money is not returned to me via the irs.

know of which you speak before opening your mouth.

I tithe with a willing heart to church and also sponsor needy children. Yes, I write off these donations on my taxes.

This is the way the law is written. If you expect me to feel guilty, then you should take some time and research the laws and write your congressman. Jesus said to render unto Ceasar that which is his, and I pay taxes, work hard, and give to charity.

Cheefully!

Offerings are given "cheerfully". I usually give cash and don't ask for a receipt. Tithes are different.

Nope I haven't although under the scriptural principle of "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's and to God that which is God's" writing tithes off on taxes is not a bad thing since it is encouraged under the US tax code.

First of all, my tithes are not to be discussed with anyone. It's God's business how much that is. By law it is tax deductible and again , that is personal.

Have you ever heard of separation of church and state ?

How can taxpayers pay your tithes ? Are you alluding to the fact that all churches are tax exempt ?
