Most salons have books you can look through. Look through them and see if you specifically like someone's highlights. If that doesn't work, look for the people in those books that most resemble you. What have they done? Is it flattering? If so, you will know that it will look good on you as well.

ask your hairdresser. But you could do a few caramel colored highlights. Ask her to put the fake sample in your hair before she really does it. Mine did that. She sort of tucked them inside of my hair to look like highlights so I could get an idea. You could also have her try the other colors - maybe you like the warmer reds/cherry/burgundy colors for fall. Have her work with you - but don't do it yourself! Good luck

you can always get your hair foiled with a couple of different colors, i wouldn;t go too light maybe a light brown or a dark blonde. I went today and got highlights and low lights, but my hair is already light. good luck!!

I'd start with reddish ones. You can go lighter, but if you start with blond ones and find you don't like them, it's a lot harder. I myself find my highlights get lighter over time anyhow (I have dark brown hair, too).

Don't go real light, stick with the yellow to reddish highlights, this will look more natural, especially if you are young.

i suggest you don't put peroxide in your hair!! that will bleach it....and it will turn orange...and it wont be highlites it will be a huge mess....any colour highlights can look good so its your prefrence. I always get blonde highlights on my dark hair and i like it that way/

Either pale ash blond or pale gold blond look good on anyone. If you don't want to go that light, then maybe a caramel color will do.
