When the first Europeans arrived here they weren't "legal" immigrants. Some would call them explorers, pioneers or invaders and conquerors. Depends on where you're standing.

Indeed. How soon we forget that this is a nation of immigrants. The original immigrants used steel and gunpowder to seize this land from the Natives, then they sat back and wrote their law which makes immigration here a legal issue.

Stop using 9-11 as an excuse. The 9-11 pilots came here with passports and visas, on a 747 with our own government's knowledge, help and blessing.

And stop saying that 'illegal immigrants' are stealing our children's future by abusing the welfare system because statistically our own 'citizens' are the worse abuse offenders of government aid. Besides, why are you blaming 'illegals' because our own government is generous with the social aid? They didn't write that law either.

Get real. You are truly afraid of becoming the minority. If it is going to happen, it is going to happen so get over it. Put your prejudices and biases and hatred behind you. Deal with it and make the best of it because we are a nation of immigrants.

These people are not your enemies.

Now, let's just sit back and 'count' the number of 'thumbs down' this reply will receive.

Why do you omit Native Americans? They didn't just suddenly spring up here, they emigrated from other countries also and came here. The difference is that prior to the 1880s there were virtually NO immigration restrictions in America. Anyone could come here, but then the U.S. government began closing the doors starting first with the Chinese and the Chinese Exclusion Act. Then other groups were reduced with the various immigration acts in the 1920s. Today we still accept legal immigrants who come here with something to offer. We do not want the world's rejects with no education, no jobs, no skills, and nothing to contribute to America flooding across the borders. It is OUR country and we have the right to say who comes in and who stays out.

If the previous owners of YOUR home came back and broke into YOUR home and began eating YOUR food, wearing YOUR clothes, sleeping in YOUR bed all because they USED to own YOUR home, would you stand passively by and allow them to use up your family's resources (incidentally without them EVER paying for groceries, electricity, garbage pick-up, cable, water, etc...) without objecting. If you stood by muttering, "Well they are right. They did used to own this home. Maybe we should let them stay." Your family would look at you like you had lost your mind.

Get the point?

Not really! Even though we hear about this race and that race, race itself is a complete lie. We all originated from Africa essentialy, this is scientific fact. So we are all immigrants to this land I guess one could say. Much evidence has been found to support the fact that those we call natives actually came over on boats from Africa thousands of years ago. The reason it is not taught to a great degree just shows how many predjudice and ignorant people are still in power!

Every one in this country are decendants of immigrants, even the Native Americans .

The problem is, Americans turned this land into the greatest country on Earth, now we have people wanting to come here, not to become partof it, but to use it to their advantage with no concern to the negitive impact they are making.

There are legal ways to become a American citizen, and thats all we want to see done... is to have immigrants follow the laws.

This argument is always an amusing one; because ultimately it's not like native americans grew out of the ground like a weed! Please.

It's all perception and for nothing....things are what they are and they will stay this way for a while no matter how much ranting goes on here!

Well his point is, that why should we be prejudice of anyone, when traced back far enough, we all began dragging our knuckles and grunting. You know the story, Abraham begot.....
who begot you know who????? YOU! Thomas Jefferson made us all real close to African Americans by having children by his house maid. Denied for years, DNA proved it. Also Jews landed in some colony of Africans some time before they were kidnapped from their home lands to be slaves all over the world, they obviously did what come natural and now there are African Jews, also proven with DNA. Now you add those two things together, and look hard enough at your own family you are bound to find things that would make your grandfathers cringe. We are all one, brothers and sisters, just some of us it is hard to tell. Oh ya I am Irish, and belive me when I tell you, we were the first in line to have someone be prejudice towards, my ancestors, scrubbed floors, shoveled horse crap, and people crap. Then the Greeks, and the English folks all arriving. Blacks lived in Canada for hundreds of years without having anyone treat them like crap., then all of the folks in the south thought it would be cool to have slaves...you all know the rest. Human trafficing is now real big all over the world. So my next statement is. How many of the readers here can type more than ONE WORD ANSWERS> Earn your points! At least type two words to get your two points.

Yes, indeed we are all immigrants unless Native American. However there is a theory that even the Native Americans got here via the Bering Strait.
Who knows...... All I know is I am an American..... how I got here doesn't matter...... I AM here and PROUD!
