You are being sensitive, Denise. Whether "too" sensitive is something only you can really decide, it depends upon how sensitive you wish to be (sensitivity is a good thing).
I suspect what is bothering you more is why people choose to be cruel when you seek aid and comfort.
Some people are afraid of their own vulnerabilty. Your willingess to be vulnerable scares them, and shames them. From their fear they strike out, to make you stop.
It takes great strength to be sensitive. Will you let their fear stop you?
I hope not.

it's true that 'teacups" are just the offspring of inbred runts of the litter. But you really shouldn't be offended. I think your experience should just teach you to never buy a dog like that again, instead, go to an animal shelter or dog rescue. Doing so could result in a very sick dog that will cost you a lot of money and then just die. But since it sounds like your dog is fine, i think you should be happy to have her, and love her. I have a dog, also name Gigi, who was in kind of bad shape when i got her. She was born in a filthy trailer home and was covered with fleas when i picked her up from her old home. I learned after 2 days of having her that she had roundworm. She is a mixed breed, chihuahua and who knows what else, but i love her so much! Here is a link so you can see a picture of her, just click the link:
Here is Gigi her first night at her new home:

Gigi now:

Oh and i didn't pay money for her, the original owners were just giving her and her sister away for free.

What I want to know is - are you a raving poofter or a raving poofter that's not too bright or a raving poofter that has recently had a lobotomy? Or just a weak and ineffectual raving poofter ?
Whatever the answer - first, take the dog in question to the vet - explain, as I suspect, that you are a raving poofter - and that you wish to end your existence and you need to find someone who will look after your pet who is not a raving poofter.
Second, you need to find someone who feels equally that you are a raving poofter and get them to wrap in you duct tape - till you look more like an Egyptian mummy rather than a raving poofter. Then invite this person to push you off a pier into a choppy sea.
This will solve the problem for your dog and you !
Please take this advice immediately for the dogs sake if not for the rest of humanity !!!

Well, I wouldn't call it mean, but I can understand why you were emotional about this. Did you take your little one to the vet yet? The vet can make an educated guess at what she is. And have you done some web research to confirm that there is no such breed? None of us really have any credibility on a site like this: you should always double check important things! But anyway, you don't really care what she is, do you? She's your little fur ball and you love her. If she's malnourished, see what you have to do to make her healthy. And scratch her behind the ears and give her a sack. :)

I think you have every right to be offended. These people who sold them to you duped you into thinking your dog was something that she wasn't. It hurts me to think that there are untrustworthy people in this world who sell animals just to make a buck, without any real consideration into upholding breed standards and striving to breed quality dogs.
For future record, always buy from responsible breeders - ask to see the parents of the puppies, ask for a tour of the house or facility where the puppies grew up, and ask about genetic diseases that ran in the family. There are also many wonderful dogs in need of loving homes in your local shelter. but you should NEVER buy from pet stores either, because they get dogs from puppy farms, which breed dogs haphazardly, just like these women were.
My family fell into the same spot you fell into when we bought our 1st dog from an irreputable breeder. His allergies were horrible all throughout his life, and he ended up dying from an allergic reaction when he was still in his prime. You have every right to be offended that these women lied to you and steered you in the wrong direction.

I don't think you should be offended.....you are just upset because you were lied to...but what is important is that you got your sweet little dog...{who I'm sure is so grateful to be yours}...with you and that is better than what kind it is or anything else...enjoy your doggy and both of you be happy.......I have 2 dogs and they are just the best.....enjoy your dog and move past this....

I'm not sure what you're saying here, that your dog wasn't the breed that you thought it was, or that they made up a fancy-sounding breed to trick you into buying her? Please add details I don't get it!
If you really love your dog, which I'm sure you do, your problem doesn't matter. I think you're being a little too sensitive. What breed it is doesn't matter, if she's cute she's cute. If you love her you love her.

It is ok to be offended when somebody lies to your face, and takes advantage of your misinformation. Those actions are wrong! Be incensed, be offended, it is ok.
Don't be ashamed to speak up to these people if you ever see them again, and call them on their lies. However, don't be surprised if you never see them again, either. Shysters tend to take their money and run.
Hope you like your dog, though. Take better care of it, than they did of you.
