She can go down to her county prosecutor's office and file papers of incorrigibility on the boys. The state will then take them and have them evaluated and when they are allowed back home, they will be supervised by a probation officer and must follow strict rules.
Hope this helps.

Pathways will give her free counseling. I feel if they are out of control tell her to let them go and be bad, if they end up in jail, then just love them and still be there for them. Don't ever turn your back on family when times are hard. She needs to care of herself also, but counseling if that's what she wants will help her so much. As for the dad, well a lot of women do it by themselves (taking care of things as in family, bread winner, the shoulder for the kids, and so on. The most important thing in her life should be her, and her children were given a life by her, its up to the boys to do something worth while for themselves and maybe if they are nice make mama happy at the same time.

There's not allot of free help out there but there is some. Try looking for your county's local mental health services. If you have access to the Internet, use goggle and look for free counseling in your area. In my opinion she need to implement tough love. The 21 year old should be put out of the house until he/she can find steady work and pay rent to stay. As for the 16 year old,put your foot down and don't move it. If he rebels go to family court and have the judge order him to some place or to get help. I know its hard to show tough love and stick to it, I had to do it myself. But I Promise you it does work. All kids want discipline.

For free? First check the County Mentel Health Department. Counseling for her is so important. Helps keep one's head above the water, when problems are like a flood. Search for women's organizations (Health Center, Social Club,YWCA, anything), and if they don't provide free counseling, they can give ideas for other contacts. Be persistant. There are people everywhere who are determined to assist others in finding hope and relief. So sorry about son #2, not breaking away from older brother's example. Must sure be looking like fun. But causing grief to parents eventually bites us in the conscience (once we get one). Good luck.

There are usually resources available in every county to recieve counseling services based on income. She could try to call the local hospital or a doctor and ask if they have any such services in the area.

try the school counselor for the 16 year old. As for the 21 year old, you may have to get his attention in ways he will understand that "you mean business". The parent needs to be the parent. As cliche as it sounds, give your problems to God and completely trust that he will help you through this, and HE WILL.

The town we live in offers free counseling at the Municipal Building. Maybe you can look into it where you live, You can also ask the police if there are any social workers you can talk to.
