I think you fell asleep for a second with your finger on the "enter" key...
Anyway, it's a matter of developing good habits. I was recently messy, but have changed that a little at a time. My room was a mess, and I decided that instead of cleaning it all up at once, I would do it piecemeal. One day I put away nothing but SHIRTS. Dirty in the laundry, clean hung up of in the drawer. The next day I did the same with PANTS. The room was still a mess. The next day it was SOCKS and UNDIES. The next, ACCESSORIES. The next, SHOES. The next, BOOKS. The next, PAPERS and MAIL (especially financial stuff). The next, GARBAGE. And so forth.
It took a few days, but now my room is looking great. Since then I have scheduled just FIVE MINUTES per day to straighten up.
I'm working on the financial things now. I'm in debt up to my butt, but I have merely been organizing my BILLS (and COLLECTION NOTICES - UGH!). I have no idea how I am going to pay any of them, but for right now, I just want to see where I stand. All I have done to this point is put all financially-related papers in a pile. My next step is to organize them by type, date, amount, or whatever.
So, the thing to do is take it one step at a time. Break down the larger task into smaller tasks.
I've done the same with my workout. I've planned what I want to do and when. I have committed to doing the work, whether I feel like it or not. So far, so good. I got back to the workout yesterday, and I will do it tomorrow. I'm working out every other day WITHOUT FAIL. I've scheduled it, and committed to it, and I will do it, come hell or high water.
I have decided to move forward each day in every area of my life. Even if that distance is incredibly small, if I move forward a millimeter each day, after a number of days I will accomplish a lot. Remember the tortoise and the hare...
Love, Jack.

Did I write this question and don't remember because this is sooooo me. Messy, in debt, need to lose a few pounds yup that's me. Okay Messy, yes I can be a little messy but I am not dirty, and yes there is a difference. I don't pass up an opportunity to do something exciting to stay home and clean my house, it will be there when I get back. In debt, well who isn't, if you don't have bills you don't have anything, and I am not going to go through life working a full time job and never be able to splurge once in a while on something I want. I work, so I am gunna treat myself once in a while bills or no bills, they to will be there when I get back!!!! And to lose a few pounds would be great, I start my diet every Monday and one of these weeks I am gunna stay on it until Friday, lol,. And you ask what do I think is holding me back? well nothing, this is me and I dont think I will ever change, I am not that unhappy with myself, there are a lot of people worse off than me is the way I look at it. The dirty, poor, obese people that have no jobs !!!!!!

organization is tough but the best thing you can do is have little chores you do throughout the day. For example if you have a junk mail collection, immediately throw away the ads you're not going to use and put the bills in a bin to go through when it's time to pay them. clean the bathrooms once a week but don't try to do it all at once. I wash the sink and toilet on separate days. If you stay on top of it, it should only take 10 minutes tops. For losing weight, run on the treadmill or at the park. Check your diet because there's probably some things you can change but don't go overboard. Dr. Phil has a lot of great ideas for that. For debt you will definitely need a budget and Dr. Phil can help you with that too. If you're not a Dr. Phil fan, sorry but his advice is very helpful!

First I would like to say that of the three I think financial indebtedness is probably the most worrisome; but that is just based on my biased priorities. I also do not have the ideal weight, as I am 5'11 and at last check 'tipping the scale' at a whopping 127 lbs. I have a similar attitude to you in that I also have a lot of frustration in my life (not any of which is caused by my aforementioned thinness) but I also feel that I would not want to trade lives with anybody. I worry about the future more than I would like to admit and when it comes down to it I think that I would rather die than trade lives with anybody else.

I suffer from having problems and feeling a need to change them. One thing that holds me back is that I am used to how my life is. I am 'familiar' with how things are. I feel like if I changed these things in my life for the better that that would be great, but I suspect that I work against myself so that I am in the life I am used to and not playing by new rules.
I think the key is 'change' and realizing that just because something ends up being different it doesn't mean that you can't be comfortable with it. Aside from that it can simply be easier to do nothing as opposed to being proactive.
I would say to start with a simple change you can stick with. It's the easiest way. You say you are messy, I don't know your specifics but if you clean up, for example, your desk, just concentrate on keeping it clean. Once you have things cleaned then start inviting friends over on a regular basis. If you can make a regular night, thursday perhaps, for friends to come over and hang out, then you will feel compelled to keep the place clean so that you won't be embarrassed when they arrive. I suppose it is a way of cheating as it doesn't mean personal growth as in 'I keep it clean because I like it that way.' But after awhile it will just feel natural to be less messy.
With debt it's probably better to make bigger steps from the get go. If you charge things alot, this will sound funny but it works, take a bowl of water and put the charge card in it leaning against the side and then put it in your freezer. WHen you want to buy something it is likely an impulse, impulses will pass, and knowing that you have to go home, unfreeze the card should give you enough time to get your monetary priorities straight.
WIth losing a few pounds, most of us have bad habits when it comes to eating and exercise. Perhaps you drink pop alot, or any other sweets that arent the best for us. This goes for any sweets but try and make yourself drink a glass of water when you feel the urge to have one. If you are at the store and wish to buy a snickers or something, make a deal with yourself that you will go home, have a glass of water and if you still feel the same desire for that food you will let yourself go back and get it. The water and time it takes to go home and drink it should help the craving pass. With exercise it is alot easier to do it and continue doing it if you are with a friend. Tell your situation to a friend and ask them to give you a hand. Pick something you both enjoy, basketball, even golf or frizbee golf count. If you don't have a friend who is able to make the time commitment then I would say to go to a gym.community center and make sure to be outgoing. Talk to people, get to know people little by little and you will find yourself enjoying the thought of going to work out since you get to see people you enjoy being around.
I hope these ideas were of some help. The biggest step is step one. Good luck!

OK I am also over weight and I have had problems with money. I went to a bank got a big personal loan for all my debt, cut up my credit cards, got rid of any credit limits I had. Because while the money is there I keep using it, so I decide the best solution was to get rid of the credit card get a big loan and then pay the big loan off. I still have to pay the loan of but it has made my life so much easier paying 1 loan instead of lots of little debts.
I am still over weight but I am trying to do something about that now. I am trying to work out a exercise program for myself. I am (33)

Make your changes slowly. Focus on one thing at a time. Changes made slowly tend to last longer. Retrain your habits. If you constantly put the mail on the table to look at later, try sorting out the garbage first. In order to pay my bills ontime, I used to rent a PO Box and paid my bills right at the post office. I opened the mail, and wrote the checks immediately. It probably looked a little strange to some people, but it was the only way I could get my bills paid when I was depressed for months at a time. (by the way, I have sought treatment and I'm recovering)

properly you basically defined 0.5 of the folk in the international. I too am messy, in debt & who couldn't stand to lose some pounds. My advice is to address one problem at a time. a million. The mess. Are you messy because you fairly hate cleansing or are do you basically sense lazy most of the time? in case you basically won't be able to stand to sparkling get a maid service. an excellent form of small cleansing organizations have a lot less extreme priced facilities. Have them come once a week and also you'll save you position sensible without each and each of the nasty housework. Or in case you would possibly want to need to do your own cleansing yet you may by no skill seem to get round to it. Do something to encourage your self. Like plan a cocktail party or have a pal are available from out of city to stay with you. this may encourage you toclean your domicile and as quickly because it really is carried out all you ought to do is make certain on holding it that way. 2. In debt- Take a severe honestl seem at what you spend each month verses what you presently make. Then assses your debt. old debt/ new debt & cutting-edge expenditures (Get a loose credit record) you would possibly want to settle on to consolidate your debt's. this grant you with decrease month-to-month funds. searching on the quantity of debt is financial disaster an decision? or you would possibly want to take a 2d job and use the earnings solely to repay your expenditures. 3. dropping some pounds.- Get energetic. Get a actual pastime that receives you up and shifting like yoga, kickboxing, operating, skating, swimming , martial arts, abdomen dancing. sit down and workout habitual a time table that could want to really help you sense more desirable balanced . i'm no longer saying plan each little thing to the minute, basically have a universal plan for what you want to finish on your day. Take administration. funds you time & funds. Watch you ingesting habit. i hit upon if I take time previously hand to workout consultation what I anticipate for my day it is going plenty smoother. i desire my suggestion helped . sturdy success .

I am messy, lazy, and moneyless with a crap job(kids schedules prevent a good one right now) and overweight. I think I know what has held me back all these years is the fear of gaining the life I want only to lose it. Fear is my worst enemy, and sometimes knowing it really makes me feel like a coward. I hope we figure out how to conquer!
