She will not starve. Just offer healthy foods in small portions and let her tell you if she wants more. She is probably just fine. :)

Every kid is different.

First of all, all kids are different. Some kids, at age one, are still eating baby food and others are already on table food.

My little girl is 1yr old and has been on table food since 10 months. Here is her typical daily menu (but please remember this is just an example since all kids are different.)

Breakfast: 4-5oz formula or milk
1 nutrigrain waffle and 1/4 cup of fresh fruit

Lunch: 4oz formula or milk
1/2 grilled cheese and 1/4 cup of veggies

Snack: 4oz Juice and 1 slice cheese OR 3 graham cracker sticks

Dinner 4 oz formula or milk
1/4 cup of pasta or potato, 1/4 cup of shredded meat, 1/4 cup veggies
*she never finishes all of this meal
1/4 cup yogurt of applesauce for dessert

Bedtime: 4-6oz formula or milk

While my little girl is a real eater, I know other kids who eat only half this much and are perfectly healthy. It also depends on her size and activity level. Mine was walking at 10 months and started refusing pureed foods around 9 months - a friend of mine has a little boy same age that isn't walking yet and is still on stage 2 or 3 baby foods and this is also very normal.

Talk to your doctor - but I am sure you are doing great - the fact that you take the time to wonder/worry is a good sign that you are a good mom!

Babies are pretty good at self-regulating. If I remember right 6-8 oz of breastmilk or a serving of baby cereal, a small to medium jar of baby food, a child-sized handfull of pick-up snacks (diced carrots, cheerios, etc.), another nursing or 4 oz of juice, and servings of what you eat for dinner the size of her palm (unless she still hasn't cut her molars, then you don't want to feed her something like pork chops or steak).

Feed her when she's hungry and let her stop when she's finished. If you're breastfeeding, the time you plan to wean her will also be a factor. She should already be off formula and on 2%, 1%, or skim milk

Yeah their stomach is about the size of their fist so at a meal at a time they won't eat much. I would just do the 5-6 small meals a day for your daughter. My son was the same way. Trust me they are getting enough to eat and they will let you know when they are hungry.

As much as they want to. Kids are pretty good at simply eating when they are hungary. It will be a little disappointing when they don't have a good meal but that is usually followed up by a eating marathon.

As much as they want you can't force a child to eat. if your worried about malnutrition try supplemental drinks with lots of vitamins and calories.

let her tell you how much she wants. put enough on her plate that you think she will eat, if she eats it all, ask her if she wants "more". eventually she will know what that means and respond back with "no" or shaking her head, or "yes" or "more". what she doesn't eat that is still salvagable you can wrap up for the next meal.
my son is 2 and he can tell me he wants "more" or if he is "done". :-)

No more than 3 Happy Meals a day but no less than 1. If you do not like MD's then make it a happy meal at home, and I won't tell Ronald ;)
