I'm sure your presentation will be for a certain amount of time so practice before a mirror until you get the talk at the right length.

Then concentrate on losing all the bad habits such as standing cross-legged as a horse, both hands in your pockets, one hand in front instead of two hands, scratching, jingling coins in your pocket, excessive pacing, standing too still, and the list is endless.

As you practice, purposely slow down your words because as nervousness hits so does your speed in talking. Slowing down can be easily done by concentrating on pronouncing the words smoothly and effortlessly. Speak loud enough for the people in the back of the room can hear you, but not too loud to deafen those sitting right in front.

If you're speaking with a microphone make sure it's working properly and set to the correct volume for the size of the room and its audience.

Bolster your confidence through practice and if you can have someone sit by during your rehearsal that would help too. Never apologize for lack of preparation or knowledge. That shows amateurism and will immediately set your audience in disdain.

Remember that all the people in your audience would generally fear being in your place. You must show them that you know what you're doing and know the material you're presenting.

Good luck.

I am sorry to tell you this but doing a presentation over and over is the only possible way. Some people stay nervous all their lives. Even huge stars

If you can use media, go for PowerPoint. It is effective, easy to use and makes your presentation look slick. For me, I talk to the audience like they are my friends and I am informing them of something. I look at one person and then the next as I am making a point. Talk right to them, smile, relax and you will sooo win them over.

Finish your presentation well ahead of time and practice presenting it to your family. Once you've done it a couple of times, you won't be so nervous.
