I think it's good to mix it up. The old format is great, but if you keep doing it over and over, it'll get stale. I like the idea of experienced fighters getting another shot. What I'm not too crazy about though is that the winners of TUF 4 get title shots. There are a lot of guys out there that have been waiting for a title shot and continue to win. Not guys who washed out of the UFC and win a reality show against other wash-outs to get a title shot. I believe a title shot has to be earned by working your way up through the ranks, not by winning a reality show.

I like that after you lose, you stick around in case of injury or being an alternate for another fighter. I like that they are giving the guys who didn't have the window of the reality show a chance. And I think the fights thus far have been excellent.
Are these championship level guys? I am not sure.
But this is a very good TV show. I've noticed they are playing up the Sports aspect of the show rather than life at the house and any sort of drama.
As an MMA Fan and someone who likes good TV, I think the best TUF moments were in season one with the fighters talking trash and Chris Leben getting drunk and punching the door down. That was an incredible TV show. And in hindsight, the show had a great reality tv/fight balance.
It seems like we aren't going to get to know the guys this time, aside from Matt Serra being a guy who'd be a pretty righteous leader.
I hope they can find more unique talents like Forrest Griffin and Diego Sanchez, who are very good fighters and also interesting personalities.
Go BJ Penn this September!

I like this season a lot. It's good to see some of these guys back in the UFC. Notice I said some, theres a few that would put up a good fight for the title. I don't think any of them could beat the current champs but they would put up a good fight. I like Shonie Carter but he's not that great. Matt Serra is a good fighter but his record is not that great. I think some of the younger guys will be in the finals. Whats ironic is that a lot of the guys on the show this season are guys that were beat by former tuf fighters.
Shonie Carter and Pete Sell were beat by Nate Quarry.
Pete Sprat was beat by Josh Koscheck.
Jorge Rivera, Edwin Dewees and Patrick Cote were beat by Chris Leben.
Gideon Ray was beat by Mike Swick.

I was a big fan of season 1, could care less about season 2 because none of the fighters impressed me, season 3 reminded me about what I liked about season 1 with there level of fighters recruited for that season, and this season right now is half and half with me. I think it'll be down to Matt Serra vs. Pete Spratt/ Edwin Dewees vs. Jorge Rivera. Depending on who the champions will be in the WW & MW division will foresee whether Matt Serra and Jorge Rivera when they both win season 4 will have a chance to win their title shots!

True, but they do deserve some respect for making it to the UFC, even if they've lost. It would stink if I were an experienced fighter and the new kids on reality shows were more recognizable than me. Dana White has to have something up his sleeve. He's too smart of a business deal not to know that the title match won't be a record breaker. Maybe he's planning on using the match as a fill for the Liddell/Silva main event in Nov. (I know the fight's not set in stone, but I see Chuck beating Babalou this Sat.)
