There are some rather vulgar parts, much god sanctioned violence, many questionable moral assertions, IF the bible was a movie, what rating would it get? Remember, the Passion was rated R.

educational? I haven't seen a graphic orgy or people getting tortured on the discovery channel yet. I think it would be banned in most parts of the world!

The Bible was written not as ahistory book but rather as a book to educate and elevate man. God desires that we all read and learn from it. All violence that occured in the Bible was Heavenly retribution to those who sinned against God. Im not sure what you mean about "questionably moral assertions." The Bible is for young and old alike but its deeper meanings are only understood by those who study it carefully. It is best if it is taught to children by a scholar.

Definitely an R for violence and possibly an X, depending upon how much they show Samson and David's shenanigans.....But knowing Hollywood, they would probably powder coat it to make it a PG-13 to boost up ticket sales and the Christians would take that as a victory!!!!

I don't think I would let my child read it,if he were inclined. It scared the heck out of me when I was little. It kind of scares me now,and I don't believe in it anymore.Well,I believe those people lived and did some crazy stuff, but I don't believe it's the word of God.It contradicts itself too much, and so much of it is just impossible.I know, nothing's impossible with God,but he's not doing stuff like that, now.

yes because educational material (which the bible is considered by most to be) is exempt from ratings
