Hopefully I can further assist you in this subject. To understand parts of the bible, one must understand the full context and most importantly the time at which the scriptures are relating to. In the Old Testament, God gives the children of Israel a series of laws and ordinances. Some of the laws were relating to the relationship between God and man; others were relating to the survival of the Children of Israel by moral, civil, and health statutes. When God commanded His followers to stone anyone caught in the act of sexual immorality, according to scripture (Romans 6:23), He showed, through the law, what the actual punishment of sin is and what it ultimately brings-death. Furthermore, God, of course, is beyond our way of life and thinking; and therefore can see the full effect (spiritual, moral, civil, and physical) of sin. However, the Children of Israel (along with the nations of the world today) could not comprehend nor understand the full consequences of evil. Additionally, when Christ walked the earth, He taught forgiveness and love. However, many people, including Christians, are under the erroneous impression that Christ abolished the law. It clearly states in the bible that Christ did not come to abolish but to fulfil the law. He also taught that no one is to judge anymore, indicating that He is the One True Judge. The law still stands, but Christ is now the Judge, and will carry out this act at the end of time in the Great Judgement. Commanding His people to stone anyone who is caught doing acts of unrighteousness was symbolic in that the ultimate result of sin is death, and also necessary for their well being as a community and most importantly, their survival as a pure spiritual and physical race in the eyes of God and man. Hope I was of assistance, God bless.

What did Jesus have to say about this one?
OH, YEAH...I remember now:
"Let the one who is without sin cast the first stone."
I guess that lets me out...you'll have to start the party without me!
Have fun!
